Unfortunately it's going to take time, unless the rules get amended sooner, we will get there eventually but we unfortunately just have to be smarter rather than competing on spending with them.

At some point we will have to sell Isak, Gordon or Bruno before contracts start coming to their end and the value drops. It's unfortunate but it's just the nature of the beast. I am not defending it, it's way too heavily geared towards protecting the top 6 rather than what was sold to us to prevent clubs putting themselves in debt to keep up, but it's going to hurt. I am glad the club has managed to get it so we can have another season with these players, but ultimately some will get sold, but it's alright the club has ambition we're not going to do the whole replacing Cabaye with Colback of the old regime, new exciting players will come in.
-
It's a bit hard to take the argument that we are super competent and know definitely what we can afford when literally a few weeks ago we panic sold two of our most exciting young players. We will have to make a big heartbreaking sale at some point, as all clubs do. We will replace and move on.

I mean buying Wharton for £100m would be madness, but also he's only just been signed by them essentially and would not blame them putting a fuck off price tag on him at all.

Part of me is always baffled by West Ham's transfer policy, bit of me is like, well not everyone is brighton can find cheap talent around and wants to put in the hard yards developing them, they'll just buy very mid talent for mid prices and mid sell on value and assemble fairly random sets of players and vascilate wildly between competing fot europa league places and fighting relegation which no clue in advance which it will be

I thought he did look good for Crystal Palace, and I don't want to judge players based on what the cartel clubs want

I don't really know what TCD has done so wrong on this, I disagree with him a bit, I think he is a good buy will improve us and unfortunately a lot of money is what a 24 year old england international centre back costs. I think he's perfectly valid to point out two areas where he is not quite as good as should be, I think if that is true there is still an overwhelming case for it, I'd love us to buy a complete Virgil Van Dyke or John Stones type but those are at this point very rare and even more expensive, our best bet is spend on a known quantity which will improve us now and then buy cheap younger prospects whom could either become that player or whose sales will fund buying that player.

Tonali isn't someone who quietly controls games, and I have long argued we need a defensive mid who can do that, even if it's just for plan b cos Howe's plan A isn't to have such a midfielder, it's all action high pressing players all the way through so I doubt we will go out and buy one unfortunately

Not sure we can play the whole burnley team in one position -
Think a fantastic signing if it goes through. England international, already proven in league means 3 top quality cbs in side with burn and Kelley capable cover.

in a shit team managed by shit managers not going to prejudge him at all.

Read that, invite press and keep ball and play through the press doesnt seem to be thaaaat revolutionary, as it mentions the wide players drop inside to act as number 10s and help possession, all good, but that also does leave a certain right back being the only wide player, see that being an issue. That will be plan a against good teams, how they play against all the teams that have no intention of pressing and content with a draw will be what makes them a champions contender or not, I do expect them to be up there but also wouldn't be shocked if the loss of klopp hurts for a while. He'll probably start well get hailed as the new messiah and then be very mid for rest of season, just a feeling but we'll see
-
convinced we're just cursed against liverpool no matter what
-
And it didnt happen so i don't really care about what ifs. I imagine there will be bids to test us at end of window. Hope we resist, nothing seen from him to suggest he'd be upset if we refused all bids

Something so west ham about signing Fulkrug
-
Packing his stuff into a garage in preparation for a move elsewhere I see, worrying
-
Theres that once every few games he turns into Yaya Toure randomly and strides through midfield and tries to score a solo goal, don't think he's pulled it off for years but one day!

Again agents aren't exactly motivated to help moves happen quickly, know it can and is done but their leverage does get better if they delay and look for competition. It's not as simple as club just deciding lets do it early. Club can say we do it now or not at all, but agents know if the club really wants someone probably means they'll come back, or someone else will have em. Honestly I think it's why so much effort goes in to tapping up players in advance so the player just insists to get it over and done with so they can move, but our director of football situation has probably harmed that.

Sure if you look on rtg the story will be 100 mags were on the kareoke and 1 brave mackem hurled so much abuse he had to be dragged out but not before decapitating 90 of the mags
-
yeah i wasnt super impressed by his reaction to the betting, seemed to consider it the world against him, then after the club backed him and he got back in immediately kept publicly courting suitors which felt unnecessary. Also while clearly really good his form was quite poor for a bit, not sure he's all that. England call up gone to his head
-
I didn't read it as negative was just explaining that the profits to the club are more geared long term than up front payment.
-
Howe could be frustrated with the commercial side not getting the revenue up quick enough, and Howe is entitled to be upset we had to sell for PSR, i think we all are a bit upset at that but yeah not sure what else the club could do at that point. It is worth pointing out that if true that the plan was selling Joelinton Howe is absolutely in the right, we will need to sell a star at some point but don't understand the rush to.

Pretty sure 90% of his communications could be classed as malicious. No doubt will make a lot of hay over being rounded up by keir's woke police or whatever nonsense
