And it didnt happen so i don't really care about what ifs. I imagine there will be bids to test us at end of window. Hope we resist, nothing seen from him to suggest he'd be upset if we refused all bids

Something so west ham about signing Fulkrug
-
Packing his stuff into a garage in preparation for a move elsewhere I see, worrying
-
Theres that once every few games he turns into Yaya Toure randomly and strides through midfield and tries to score a solo goal, don't think he's pulled it off for years but one day!
-
Again agents aren't exactly motivated to help moves happen quickly, know it can and is done but their leverage does get better if they delay and look for competition. It's not as simple as club just deciding lets do it early. Club can say we do it now or not at all, but agents know if the club really wants someone probably means they'll come back, or someone else will have em. Honestly I think it's why so much effort goes in to tapping up players in advance so the player just insists to get it over and done with so they can move, but our director of football situation has probably harmed that.

Sure if you look on rtg the story will be 100 mags were on the kareoke and 1 brave mackem hurled so much abuse he had to be dragged out but not before decapitating 90 of the mags

yeah i wasnt super impressed by his reaction to the betting, seemed to consider it the world against him, then after the club backed him and he got back in immediately kept publicly courting suitors which felt unnecessary. Also while clearly really good his form was quite poor for a bit, not sure he's all that. England call up gone to his head
-
I didn't read it as negative was just explaining that the profits to the club are more geared long term than up front payment.

Howe could be frustrated with the commercial side not getting the revenue up quick enough, and Howe is entitled to be upset we had to sell for PSR, i think we all are a bit upset at that but yeah not sure what else the club could do at that point. It is worth pointing out that if true that the plan was selling Joelinton Howe is absolutely in the right, we will need to sell a star at some point but don't understand the rush to.
-
Pretty sure 90% of his communications could be classed as malicious. No doubt will make a lot of hay over being rounded up by keir's woke police or whatever nonsense
-
Someone knowledgeable about Brighton a while ago mentioned the club internally think he's going to keep getting injuries however they determine that, hence them not being able to sell him for big bucks and limited game time.
-
I guess he had already asked internally and got nothing concrete back and didn't want to find out he didnt have a veto on players when the transfers started happening. I do find it a bit worrying though he felt a need to send messages to owners through media, doesn't seem very Howe and also doesn't seem good communication internally, albeit I do think Staverley was more hands on than any board member usually is but surely when Mitchell was hired he was given clear lines of authority, why didn't this come to Howe if the answer was no Howe gets final veto on anyone but happy to receive a shortlist? (which feels relatively normal, albeit clubs vary on the veto bit)

Its not meant to benefit anyone (apart from promote following the rule) it's a punishment. Could argue should be tied to the season but then how far though the season do you allow in leeway? Its a years ban essentially makes sense. I mean i do get annoyed seeing shorter bans on racism etc, but there is huge amount of money around in the criminal underworld around betting so i do understand why football is so hardline on integrity, even if there's no suggestion tonali was actually fixing games.

Sigh was kinda thinking was time this guy was sold while there still was some value here. Great servant but clearly struggles to stay fit. Concerned a bit that Howe is slightly overly loyal to him too. Even if he stays, and with injury seems likely, a promising young striker should be high on list of priorities
-
Of course he's worried about staverley going she clearly thought he was 100% the man. It is well rumoured he didn't see eye to eye with ashworth though that could be briefing after the fact. Manager wants power shock. He'll be worried new dof will be given authority to go over his head. Hopefully can prove otherwise and work well together
-
Its what my Everton mate says, soon as anyone legitimate looks at the books they run a mile. Scandalous how it's been run and remember if they can't fully fund and finish the stadium by a certain date they are liable for all costs for returning the area back to it's previous state. Potentially calamitous for them, absolute madness they let 777 string along and accept loans from them.
-
Every manager always wants signings in early, unfortunately with a lot of window left to go agents aren't in hurry unless their player really wants a pre season with new team. Has a manager ever said 'I'd like them all on deadline day and no sooner' lol
-
Slightly wonder if staverley was all the journos source for all club rumours now she's gone no rumours
-
That would probably be least worst. I will still miss seeing it when I drive back into Newcastle. I get people wanting to strip out the emotion and focus on what's best for future success, but what is football if not emotive? It's certainly not rational.
-
I can see an the logic but also my heart will break not walking up that hill when going to a match. Don't care about the stadium itself, more the location.
-
I mean yes I think in his ideal world he wins the league and champions league with newcastle goes on a while then gets the England job, but as Howe and all football managers will be acutely aware that there is absolutely no guarantee he will be offered the job again. What if this next season with us is a disaster he gets sacked half way through and Potter is great and is in the job for 10 years by which time football has moved on from Howe and he isn't in contention next time?
-
I doubt he will say no if offered it to be honest. How many chances does one get to take your country to world cup? I also think the FA will not want to pay club the compensation required so may not happen due to that. I think it'll be Potter for that reason.
-
This, 100% As annoying as his tactics have been of late he rescued England from being a running joke and acted with dignity and class. I did often semi joke i wish he could be kept on behind the scenes for squad vibes etc and let someone bit better tactically do the actual game management stuff. But still people need to remember where England were when he took over. Hope the vitriol dies down and people remember that transformation.

I'm not sure what would annoy me more, losing Howe, or Gerrard or Lampard getting the job
