Is the narrative sterling is a greedy cunt now? Not his fault they offered silly wages. He wasn't going to get any more central to Pep's city, got a huge offer on wages to be central to a rebuild of chelsea, found out its a basketcase and when clubs are in a state you tend to see players form plummet. He's a really good player, he's not even particularly old yet. Chelsea's model seems to be built on that they will buy all these players as assets and sell them all on but how are they going to sell them on for any value when most of them aren't going to get any game time? And those that do they are going to look like idiots playing in a bad team. What they've mostly done is sign a bunch of players and incentivise them to sit out their contracts making money, hard to show a club loyalty that is run so badly.
-
Eeh tbh i do understand it, you can play a lot for a team and that doesnt mean no loyalty or love of it but that's still different than team you support as a kid. If that's true of course...
-
Cos Trent can do a job in midfield apparently which went very well...
-
I know, terrible end product he's like a winger man u would buy sometimes
-
hate that chelsea kit

Doku is a ridiculous player sometimes looks unplayable sometimes absolutely useless

Sort of true but I sense Brentford are in a bit of a decline. Had them going down this season, could well be way way wrong with that but people forget how rubbish they were for large parts of last season. They lose Toney and their replacement out for most the year can see them doing a Leicester and go down with a squad that looks way too good to.

I suspect there are a lot of addons and delayed payments because we probably dont want to spend more than a certain amount this window. This may be the sticking point considering there was noise we had reached the amount in total they had initially wanted.
-
I dont imagine the club are bothered, it's more the fans,

I dont blame palace for trying to milk as much as possible but i do wonder why this is all taking so long. Make a serious bid on another centre back, even if it's just so palace seriously think they may not get their money. If they dont want to sell at all maybe it's never going to be value.

I can see this, what really annoyed me over him was him openly talking about wanting to move on to other clubs while still playing for brentford last season, especially after they stood with him over the betting thing. Now I get everyone knows the deal, brentford are a club that want to make profit but still felt insulting to his current club

Also noone wants to get into a bidding war for someone who will be free nexr summer. Wouldn't be shocked if bunch try in january for really cheap

So Toney not playing for Brentford due to transfer stuff, that better be because he is actually off somewhere imminent or yet again he's proving why there's a lot less interest than I think Brentford or Toney expected, he is a bit of a tosser (and apparently asking for huge wages). He'll end up at Chelsea as will 100 other player, albeit i am fairly sure Chelsea's wages are generally lower cos they're spread over so long a contract...

it was excellent shithousery its just mad can get away with it in the age of VAR wtf is the point of var if not shit like that
-
its mad that diaz can shove schar over well after the whistle and that isn't considered violent conduct and that head movement is. I hate to use the phrase common sense but some surely has to be used here.
-
Watching on match of the day they both go head to head. If Schar react slike Bereton Diaz what does the ref do? I reckon yellow card each for simulation. I know it's tough to write a law a bar by which something becomes violent conduct but that just makes everyone look ridiculous, and worst of all it makes everyone treat serious head injuries with a degree of skepticism. it is annoyign that with var they couldnt look at it and think no this is ridiculous and yellow card both sides for being dumb, it's not a thing that should impact a game so much.

Get in, will forget the manner of that win in the long run but fuck me we need to improve.

Watching the liverpool ipswich game, man Lex Luthor has really let himself go

Longstaff is not disciplined enough to be a pure defensive midfielder let alone a centre back. And I say that with a lot of appreciation for Longstaff but one of the reason he could be so frustrating last season was because of the Joelinton injury he was asked to be the defensive midfielder and he just does not look after the ball. He's good at pressuring and winning the ball but the difference between him and Joelinton is Joelinton is a nightmare for the opposition to then get the ball back off, if they do it takes so long the rest of the team can be back in position, and equally Joelinton is a lot better at doing a quick neat ball out of pressure as soon as the ball is won back, often forward. Longstaff's instinct is often to surge forward or go for a more ambitious diagonal to the flanks, both reasonable options but both more likely to result in a turnover in possession. Neither Joelinton or Longstaff are perfect defensive mids, and remember the big plan last summer was for Bruno to move back into defensive mid with joelinton and tonali ahead. It wasn't just Tonali's suspension that stopped that, Bruno is waaaaay better in an attacking capacity. Anyway all to say longstaff would give the ball away waaaaay too much to play regularly at centre back. He can get away with doing it a few times from midfield, your centre back does it it's normally a goal conceded.

Don't want Gallagher we already have a bunch of all action midfielders we need a defensive technical type more imo.

we say last bid they do some brinkmanship now, i say just walk away at this point, if we were far apart should have been clear by now.
