Oh yeah, I feel a lot in the media are desperate for our owners to be impatient short termist new money idiots, as that's more fun to write about, critique and less likely to do anything. We're doing everything sensibly and it's showing up some of the normal loved big clubs as being somewhat stupid in their managerial and transfer policies. What annoys me more mind is when I see the occaisional one of our fans getting all expectant that top 4 is now the normal, it will be but we vastly overachieved last season lol. We may do it again, doubt it with these injuries, the whole project seemed planned to get there for the 24/25 season not straight away, this season always going to be fucking tough because of it! There's definitely a lot of pundits who think Howe not getting top 4 will lead to pressure from owners and fans alike and i just can't see it.

Honestly I just trust Howe's judgement at this point, if Howe thinks he's worth £30m i am sure he will do, he seems rated enough for that to be a bargain. He's done ok when i've seen him but not entirely sure he's a full back, he is technically great but hadn't yet got the defensive side figured out fully imo which I'm sure will come with time, but he looks a bit like a Zinchenko to me, i.e. a midfielder who can play there rather than a great left back. All this is very early to say, even if he wasn't young and still learning haven't seen enough to commit to a full opinion

I think Southampton fans knew he would be sold, probably disappointed it wasn't more but considering his injury record and them dropping into the championship knew probably inevitable. Think they needed a reset and chance to build new team so the sales probably good for the club long term

i really dont know what ten hag does. Their good form last season seemed fairly sensible pragmatic stuff of solid defense and some efficient goal scoring, but it was still kinda counter attacking footy. Does ten hag want to control games? they don't seem to, do they want to press high? they don't seem to, do they want to sit back and defend? again they don't seem to.
