  1. Considering Simpson's contract is up in the summer id argue getting a fullback in is just as important as a CB tbh. Both are very important mind.
  2. Tbf midfield is the only area where we have any real depth in terms of numbers. As for Vuckic it's a real shame for him he seems a talented kid and by most accounts a really nice lad but if these injuries persist his career is going to be over before it starts.

    Xisco

Cisse's form is down to a mixture of factors IMO. 1. He can't seem to perform alongside Ba and always if you go through his history as a footballer had more joy as a lone striker than in a partnership. 2. Little to no service and seems to enjoy passing football on the ground to his feet where he can use his off the ball movement and predatory instincts rather than direct long ball. 3. He seems low on confidence which is mainly due to poor performances for two above reasons.
  4. In the main i'd agree, i have found in the past there is an over-emphasis on formations and tactics ( rich coming from me i know) when it's not always the reason a game is won or lost even though it was clear that it was on Sunday. In the main though Zonal Marking are usually great at what they do.

    Alan Pardew

Does not really solve anything though that, we would still struggle in the middle with just Cabaye and Tiote if Pardew want's to give Ba and Cisse as a 2 a go then i'd go with this when everyone is fit. Krul Santon Saylor Coloccini Ferguson Cabaye Tiote Jonas Ben Arfa Cisse Ba Important thing is having 3 in the middle to me, we need control once we have chances will be created and goals will be scored with the individual ability we have. As for the fullbacks you could argue we would be weak defensively but if we have more control then teams won't be able to get at them because they will be being pushed back and trying to win the ball back and not in the position to effect us. Also you would expect the midfielders to cover for them by either dropping deep or taking the space the fullbacks leave. These are the ideals we was using when we used 4-3-3 in that winning run and it worked a treat and unlike then we have two fullbacks who can bring the ball forward and be a threat going forward. Doubt it will happen but if Pardew wants to use 2 strikers then that is what i would do.
  6. I agreed with Perch at start of season but he's been poor there this season, would take Simpson every single time.
  7. That is as fake as Romario's goalscoring record
  8. In conclusion there's a lot of c*nts in this league.
  9. Was due to their narrow 4 in midfield IMO, while it was narrow it wasn't completely centralized sure Carrick, Cleverly and Rooney was but Kagawa was slightly off to the right. The midfield 3 was brought to match Carrick, Cleverly and Rooney and it did and Ben Arfa to the left was to stop Kagawa from being free. It worked from a defensive stand point and we started to control the game a lot more but we didn't really create a great deal.
  10. Basically the Liverpool team with Terry, RVP, Cattermole and Bale.
  11. Doubt he would have saved any of them tbh, we need him back but i don't think he would have prevented the goals yesterday.
  12. Would like this but with Ba being our inform striker no way Pards plays it Krul Anita Taylor Colo Santon Cabaye Tiote Jonas Ben Arfa Cisse Ba I'd like to see Ferguson given another go tbh, i don't think he did anything wrong and he feel the Santon and Ferguson idea has potential to be potent, we lost due to being outnumbered in the middle and poor defending from set pieces not having attacking fullbacks. Otherwise i agree completely with your line up, it's more or less how Man Yoo lined up against us.
  13. Has this been posted? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/oct/08/manchester-united-newcastle-united-midfield Great article tbh and explains why we struggled so much in the first 15 mins, i don't care what system it is but we must play 3 in the middle in every game going forward this isn't the 90s any more, practically every team in the league plays 3 or 4 in the middle and we with our 2 as good as they just struggle with the numbers game and thus we cannot control games.
  14. Not when the opposition is lining up like this it doesn't..... http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2012/10/7/1349633027948/graphic-001.jpg I don't care if you have the 2 best midfielders in the world you would struggle with all those numbers around you.... it's nothing to do with being WC or not it's due to being outnumbered by the opposition in midfield..... it's no coincidence that Cabaye has performed when we have matched the opposition up in midfield. We could have had Xavi and the best DM in the world instead of Cabaye and Tiote and we still would of struggled, we improved once we switched to 3 because we could compete with the numbers game. It's stupid to ignore him being outnumbered and say if he's this he'd be fine, it's quite frankly utter rubbish. One of the main reasons we must play 3 in midfield a practically every team does. More on this..... http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/oct/08/manchester-united-newcastle-united-midfield
  15. Yeah because it's so easy to boss 4 players at once He struggled because it was him and Tiote against 4 players, Rooney excelled because he had 3 players around him at all times. No coincidence he improved once we put Jonas alongside him and Tiote in the middle. Gotta love a knee jerk on a sunday afternoon.
  16. Bit hard to grab a game by the neck when in every game he is outnumbered in midfield due to poor tactics.
  17. bollocks It's not really, we had quite a few chances that could have gone in on another day..... meanwhile they hardly created anything from open play we didn't defend set pieces good enough and that's why we lost but i don't remember them all over us creating chance after chance.
  18. Your acting like he played the whole game, he came on once the game was already over..... No one is judging Bigi but we are judging Anita i wonder why
  19. He was dreadful when we had 2 in the middle but i don't give a shit who you are if you going against 4 in the middle with just 2 players your going to struggle. We could have had Prime Makelele and Xavi today and we still would have struggled, he improved when we moved to 3 in midfield because we could compete better.
  20. We lost because of poor defending on set pieces, not because of any referee decisions.
  21. Ridiculous, the game was over when he came on and he's not a game changer anyway he was bought to help us control games better ( at least in the long term anyway) When we actually start passing the ball instead of hoofing non stop and start playing 3 in midfield then we can judge him. Plus he just got here ffs.
  22. We wasn't as bad as the scoreline suggest IMO, they scored from a cross come shot and two corners. From open play they did not seem to hurt us much, i don't mean to go on about this but starting with 2 in midfield was a mistake as we was thoroughly outnumbered by their 4. Anyway just one of the games just best to move on from and hopefully we can bounce back after the international break.
