Winks and Rice both the same brand of nothing player. Putting in Rashford on current form is nuts.

Danny Rose is probably the only other option of equivalence. Shaw and Ashley Young are the others closest but they're all shite.

So at the WC I recall us playing a 3-5-2 with Walker, Maguire and Stones the 3 CB's. Although Stones level has dropped he still plays with Walker at City so there's an understanding and as ball playing defenders go, he's the best available to us. TAA and Chilwell I think are the present and future as far as wing-backs are concerned. Rose and Trippier back-up. Midfield and attack I'm less arsed about, but constantly playing Henderson and especially Rice is just hampering us. We're fucking toothless as a central midfield and try-hard only. I don't really object to Mount playing in the CM position or even Alli. Either way we just need to figure out the main spine and stick with it as much as we can. If certain players really are performing shit and someone is making a case for just not being able to be ignored, then aye phase them in. But just constantly pulling players out your arse and chopping and changing the line-up is just going to keep us going the way Hodgson had us. The most recent example of Mings and Keane getting in is just a bit daft.

Tbh this is all a bit Roy Hodgson and those before him. There's a lot of 'talented' players in England and some may be slightly in-form which means they are due a call-up but does that mean they should be starting or making it off the bench unless there is a case of injuries or real fatigue? This is a European qualifier, not a friendly. See Keane and Mings - how many clean sheets have Everton or Villa kept this season? They've hardly been rock solid and in terms of goals conceded they're about neck-and-neck too. People went on for ages about following the Germany model and we've tried to copy it by getting rid/phasing out the old guard and giving chances to exciting young players, but there's just no consistency there. Select who you want your XI to be, or your core players and fucking play them every chance you get. Only make slight alterations where you need to. Oh and just fuck Declan Rice out of the equation altogether. He's about Colback standards.
  5. Oops. That misunderstanding was quite fitting of the morning I had. Not quite sure why it's a "sad thing" though?
  6. Aye, håpefullt. I fucking knew you were Swedish really
  7. And his head. Pretty sure the impact is still goddamn severe - helmet or no - if someone lashes a puck clean off it.
  8. The sad thing is I reckon 90% of Newcastle fans would rather see local lads come through the system and play for Newcastle than spend £500,000 a week on someone like Pogba. Poor example. If you gave me the choice of playing Sean or paying £90m and £500k a week for Pogba, I'd take Sean Longstaff purely for cost-effectiveness vs difference in ability. Although obviously Pogba is the far superior player on paper, he absolutely could not justify an output of £210m (his fee+5yr contract) as just one player vs say £13m over 5 years (£0 transfer and 50kp/w) for Longstaff.
  9. Just following the media narrative tbf to him, Man U fans are much worse done by with the Glazers than we are with Ashley.

    David Squires

Matty running away with his calippo, Sean in the background.
  11. Honestly think his plan was to buy all of these failed high street stores in the blind hope that he gets a government grant to be able to run them for free as they don't want to lose it. Classic him just gambling on a 10000/1 shot with as much money as he (or rather NUFC) has. And then even after he wins the bookies tell him nar, we made a mistake, you're only getting a 3/1 at best instead. Absolute mug - excellent businessman of course though.
  12. Would be a decent buy for the Championship next season.
  13. He'll only be regretting he spent Newcastle's money more wisely. Buying HoF never cost him a penny.
  14. See the inclusion of the word "professional".
  15. "He's a breath of fresh air, he just wants to play football". Fucking hell, man. Yet another classic PFM cliche. Which professional player doesn't want to fucking play football you whopper?
  16. Aye it was, although it's a shame he was even on the pitch to be celebrating.
  17. Anyone who would seriously have Atsu over Almiron needs their fucking head examined.
  18. Don't be like that, I was quacking in my boots to see the next groundbreaking paragraph.
  19. He still reminds me of Cacapa for some reason. Very nifty with the ball at his feet, mind.
  20. He was fantastic today and as someone else said, despite how detached I am from the club I found the interview lush and so pleased for the pair of them. And then to negate it, Bruce sounded like an old man after 7 pints talking shit about the match in the pub in his MOTD interview "this ginger kid, really good" etc. Feel for the pair of them working under this mong.
  21. None of these things will happen. We'll get stuffed and probably lose 1-3, if we're lucky.
  22. Undoubtedly he's the sort of bloke to use the term 'fake news' without a hint of irony as well.
