Quite enjoyed that. Loving Tiote cutting someone in half within 30 seconds of coming on - had obviously been champing at the bit on the bench! Impressed with Bigi, Jonas and Marv.

That's a decent point when you put it like that - would be interesting to hear suggestions of possible strikers people might have if we did have up to 15 million to spend? Looks like we were willing to spend close to that on de Jong but I've never actually seen him play so no idea how he compares to Carroll.

Having thought about it I would welcome him back tbh - always love seeing a local lad playing up top and you have to admit he offers something different to all our other forwards, especially if he can get back to the form he was in before he left, and there's no reason to suspect that wouldn't happen. I trust Pardew and Carver to keep a handle on the off-field stuff. Think up to 15 million would be our limit, which still represents a profit of 20 million in 18 months which provides sufficient hilarity at Liverpool's expense IMO. If he was to take a pay cut (even if achieved with some creative restructuring) it would go a long way to getting the fans straight back on side. Just imagine him scoring the winner for us at Anfield.... Edit: Should've mentioned, if it was a straight choice between Carroll and Ba I would rather keep Demba.

Never seen this bloke play so can't say I'm overly fussed - our primary targets last year were Gervinho and Gameiro and that worked out OK. Positive news is it appears we're willing to spend a decent wedge on a new striker so i'm sure there are other irons in the fire.

Cuellar is a solid enough defender to be fair, decent signing on a free. Depends what they're paying him of course, the mackems wage bill is already way too much for their turnover.
