I just don't buy this line at all. Rafa wants who Rafa wants. He isn't going to be led by suggestions from other experts ( ) within the club. The whole scenario goes completely against his whole ethos and football vision ffs. He may have given his opinion on the player, he may not have. I mean, who at the club approached him and said "we're trying to buy this guy - what's your take"? There was no communication from them to him, he probably first learned of the interest in the papers at the same time as we all did. I'm not sure where those suggestions came from, probably the press with an agenda.

The reason people have been mocking that comment is that avoiding relegation is not "job done" as you put it. Or it shouldn't be, and we shouldn't accept that as "job done". Some of us don't give a fuck about Ashley's club staying on the gravy train by the skin of their teeth.

MA just looks at results and positions i.e. just don't get relegated. Don't think he could actually appreciate the work Rafa did and how good the team was beginning to look, even with minimum investment. He's daft. MA doesn't like being told what to do because since he's done well in the business world, he knows everything. Pretty much this. That's why he likes quislings who won't question him or demand for things to be done differently.
