Honestly it comes across as wanting your classic PFM’s “bit o’ magic.”
-
folks are saying this as if it’s gospel, and as if he literally can’t move with with ball.
-
Take away those 30 goals/assists and what has he got? 0 goals/assists. Troubling.

Folks still not getting why we’d be after Livramento is doing my head in. For one, Trippier will be 33 in a couple of months and his primary backup is coming back from a major injury (and I understand Livramento is too). Depth is good. But more than that, it’s a long play. Our transfer strategy isn’t solely about filling holes…we wouldn’t have signed Tonali if that were the case, because upgrading on Longstaff wasn’t a priority. It’s about identifying bargains and opportunities to improve the squad across the board. Coming off an injury and now playing for a relegated side, Livramento’s price is likely lower than it would’ve been. If it pans out, we’ve found our long term RB who has the potential to be England’s first choice at the position.

How much have they made from youth player sales over the past few years? Incredible business.

The fee isn’t really all that important in the grand scheme, but £6m is fair money for an English, PL-quality backup keeper (I know that’s debatable, but I do think he’s good enough to play second fiddle for a bottom half PL side), who likely has the better part of a decade left in him.

But probably a better fit for what Ange P wants to do.

I know Athletic are meant to be our bffs in Spain, but I’m this close to nabbing a Celta top.
-
Those who know a player best are likely fans of the club he plays for, but it’s absolutely not the case that the club’s fans know the players best, if that makes sense. Plenty of relentless morons in every fanbase, including our own.

“I want him to do well, and I think he’ll do well, but I also think he’ll be shit, and I want everyone to know that I thought he might be shit. Unless he does well, which is what I wanted and also what I thought.”
-
Right? maybe don’t be so shit next time.

34 league goals in 4 seasons as a wide player is a very good return.
-
Could do even better by the planet by not releasing multiple new kits every season… ?
-
Feel like the opposite is true. “The Mets are white hot dogshit” this season. But “the team/club is”
-
The information asymmetry between what the club knows and what we know re: finances is as wide as the Grand Canyon and there’s nothing we can do about it anyway. Lads on here in tears trying to number crunch our transfer dealings.
-
“Amortisation” the word, not the concept.
-
Exactly. Howe doesn’t expect creativity from the wide forwards; he expects goals. Bruno, Trippier, and now Tonali are our playmakers.

one of the better forum gimmicks

Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, Tierney, and Todibo would be an excellent window. Seems like too much to ask.

He’ll always be Kim Min Jae to me.
