He’s nee Rice or Rodri, but he’s arguably the best “destroyer” type DM in the league. IIRC his tackles numbers blew everyone else out the water last season.

Hope Fulham take West Ham to the cleaners for Palhinha. Huge player for them.
-
Probably a bargain. It’s not like he’s shit all of a sudden.

Fair. I’ll say Barnes has been more consistent recently than Lingard and Digne, and certainly in better form.
-
Maddison and Barnes are both far more accomplished than Lingard and Digne, mind. I’ll be shocked if either is a dud.

I think about that goal v. Argentina every time I hear his name. The perfect strike.

Wonder if Arthur Melo would be worth a flyer as midfield depth provided the price were right. Seems like a jack-of-all-trades type.

They’re nee Hayden, Fraser, and Hendrick

They’ll cut their boy Stevie G. a sweetheart deal of only £60m

Gettin’ that bag. Good for him. Accomplished pretty much all he can with Liverpool.

Noticeable lack of wheelie bins. Oversight.

Pretty wild if they go down that route. Doesn’t seem like a recipe for sticking around the PL. The anti-Forest.

Here’s the clip: Unsurprising that Mo Edu, who did gamble on a career in Europe, takes the opposite view. I’d understand LD’s take more if the reason for Pulisic not playing for Chelsea has been form and managerial chaos, rather than the fact he can’t stay healthy.
-
this is just daft from a guy who, unlike Pulisic, never really challenged himself on the biggest stage at the height of his career.

Purely a scheduling thing. If our top/Euro-based players were gonna play, better to give them a few games at the tail end of their club season rather than an early call back and month-long commitment that leads straight into club pre-season. No way they’d have called them in for both, they’d not have gotten any breaks. Doesn’t really matter if we win this GC either.

That Jacob kid seems like he’s got something to him. Great goal. Canada’s top XI can compete, but our depth just blows them (and everyone else in the conference) out of the water. Hopefully this spells the beginning of the St. Clair era in goal, too.

That’ll be the wine, Luke.

Darlow for sure needs flogged. I don’t know that Howe sees Karius as a solid #2, so I imagine that Dubs stays unless we get an offer we can’t refuse.

As serious a guy he is, creased at the thought of him hauling off and whipping it through the lad’s face

Gold Cup is the equivalent of the Euros as the chief international cup competition in the confederation. Nations League mirrors the Euro version of the same: gives smaller countries a shot at qualifying for the GC/Euros, respectively. This is supposed to be the last year in which the GC and Nations League will be held on the same summer, so you will see more A teams in both competitions going forward. If the GC had been held before the Nations League, you probably would have seen the A teams in the GC instead. Unless you’re one of the CONCACAF minnows, Gold Cup isn’t exactly a major triumph…no Confed Cup to play for either. I wish they’d scrap it in favor of merging with the Copa America. Could still have the Nations League to feed smaller teams into the CA. edit: and that’s exactly what they’re doing next year, in fact. 2023-24 Nations League will determine CONCACAF’s entrants to the joint 2024 Copa America.

They had the Nations League finals just before tbf. Euro-based players deserved a rest.
