Think the main thing stopping him being in Rafas plans is his injury records. Loan him out see if he can stay fit for a season then welcome him back with open arms if he can.

A quick browse of RTG and the mackems seem to rate him and most wanted to sign him. They reckon he was improving under Big Sam with him being a defensive minded coach and with Rafa being the same (but better) seems like theres potential in this signing. Taking a mackems word for it obviously.

Suggests that he will give something different to the starting 11 for me. Why persist with a bottler like Perez when it would be so natural to just slip Gayle behind Mitro.

Nothing to say Ritchie couldn't score 15-20 Mitro and and Gayle could get near 20 each and the rest could come from Diame who got 10 last season and maybe a few from shelvey few from hayden and a few from the CB's on corners and such. Plus we might even get a solid goalscoring winger yet and another striker capable of tucking a few away.

I've thought hes looked dodgy as fuck since his very first pre-season game and I would prefer Darlow but that's not to say he wont improve once he adjusts and gets his mistakes coached out of him. Would have rather have started with Darlow though, knows the league and performed well for us at the end of last season in the prem.

Imagine how many he might score this season if we develop more cohesion in our attacking play and bring in a solid left winger and creative CM
