Aston Villa vs Newcastle United - 24/09/2016 @ 17:30 - Live on Sky

Some come close but the 100% nailed on starters for me, and most consistent have been Shelvey, Ritchie, Hayden & Gouffran, basically our whole midfield 4. I think the fullback spots are still very much of for grabs though Dummett and Anita have performed well, but think there is definite room for improvement from both Mbemba and Lascelles which is why I think one of Hanley and Clark might start seeing more game time. Up front is anyones guess really, we need Mitrovic for a focal point and I would be tempted to go with him and Gayle as Perez does not deserve a guaranteed place in the side due to him being poor and looking very lazy tbh. -

Got a horrible feeling we might lose this. The games I want to win most this season are the home and away ties of this game, can't stand Villa and their classless fans and would love to take 6 points from them, if we put on a show that would be a massive bonus too. Would play: Darlow Yedlin Mbemba Lascelles Dummett Ritchie Shelvey Hayden Gouffran Gayle Mitrovic -
I've never actually seen a grown bloke in a full kit at any time not just match day, with the exception of 7-aside and sunday league etc... The lies on there are ridiculous.
-
Aye it was all Tiote's fault, fucking hell. Would be a good option in the championship, nobody is saying hes amazing, just a better option than Colback or Clark at DM.
-
Much better? the alternatives are Colback, who is definitely, definitely worse, and Hayden who is looking a player granted but its early days, he would definitely be a good player for us in this division and we've also got Clark who can play as DM, surely hes a better option than him too?
-
Don't really agree with putting players who haven't played yet in the strongest 11. They could be utter shite.
-
Nearly every post about Perez has been about how poor he has been except for the QPR game where he played well Most have been people saying hes better in this position or that position, and others just flat out saying hes a quality player and will come good when in reality hes looked poor in both positions for a long time and we're still waiting on something from him to prove hes as good as most seem to think he is.
-
Promotion, you have be in the PL man, get back and kick on and hopefully win both.
-
Started once this season and scores, plays 25 minutes doesn't score and hes getting grief already. Perez has been far worse over more appearances and everyone falls over themselves to make excuses for him, definite favourites on here.

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

Too many excuses made for this lad, if he plays shite on the wing everyone says he should be played central, if he plays shite central everyone says he should be played n the wing, hes just not that good man. Sad yes, but its becoming more and more evident. -

Not meaning to put a downer on anything but lets not forget this is the championship and players who did not perform in the premier league will naturally look better in this division. No doubt Rafa has had a huge effect on all players but I still doubt Gouffran would be anywhere near as good in the premier league under him. -
Yay "COME ON TOONS" is back

Saw this thread at the top thought he was injured Don't post in any player threads plz. ta.

Easy to keep clean sheets when you aren't really tested.
-
The Championship has the same goal-line technology as the Premiership I would assume. It doesn't have any, only currently in the prem.
-
Did the ball go over the line from the shot that hit the cross bar? Fatty Lowes seemed to think so.

Got an assist didn't he?

Imagine if he came back

Player of the season thus far, has really been a revelation, everything goes through him and he seems much fitter this season too, finally looking after himself, no doubt that comes from Rafa's input. Hes hugely important to us winning games and we don't really have anyone else in the side who can do what he does.
-
But why? Hes been poor all season. He hasn't played on the left all season though, perhaps he wants to see him in a position where he'll get more of the ball at his feet. Aye, this basically. He's looked awful as a #10 and with the way Rafa likes his wide men playing on the "wrong" side so they can cut inside on their preferred foot I do think that the left might be where Perez ends up. In terms of ability he's one of our best players, we should be looking to get him playing well again rather than having him sit on the bench while we persist with Gouffran out there. Not sure where this new trend of people wanting to see him on the left comes from, hes played there in the past and looked average at best. He hasn't played there that often to my knowledge, usually looked comfortable though which is more important i'd argue. On the other hand in the center i haven't seen him have many good games in the last year or so except for a brief period alongside Mitrovic, it wouldn't hurt to try it out personally. Well it could if you're taking out a player whos playing well for one that isn't.
