Thing is they celebrate finishing 17th like they've won the league and have zero ambition amongst the fan base other than to beat us and stay in the league, which is why they think we are deluded because we want something better. Big Sam staying and keeping them mid table or even the odd 10th placed finish will see him go down as an absolute hero. If they keep him they will be delighted.

I thought after the West Ham game he would be a revelation for us, but since that game hes been utter toilet, I'm not even convinced I want to see him in the championship, decent offer comes in move him and and invest in someone more mobile and who is more likely to give a fuck.

Glad hes going to put an end to constant back and forth of him not wanting to be here etc... and the fact hes well passed his best, feel pretty indifferent about him though in truth, I feel like I should be more angry with him for some reason but I'm not. Stayed with us when we went down and performed fairly well for the first few seasons of being back up, should never have been anywhere near the captaincy though.

If Pardew is seen by Townsend a most of the media inexplicably see him (good, solid manager) then you can see why Townsend might have had his head turned, easy route to the premier league, arguably more chance to show his stuff to get a permanent England spot and if he has a good season someone in the top half might come in for him anyway. From his point of view it makes sense, we were just daft enough to believe he had some affinity for us and Rafa for plucking him from the obscurity of the Spurs reserves and getting his career back on track, could have given us till Jan. Can see both sides really, but that's the way of football these days, no loyalty at all.

IMO the ones who will definitely be off are Janmaat, Sissoko and Wijnaldum, therefore we need to replace those three on top of the 4-5 extra players we still need. I have the utmost trust in Rafa but I hope there's plenty going on behind the scenes and we're just waiting to make our move, because we are in need of a fair amount of players, and we need the right players, another season in the champ even with Rafa would be depressing as f.

Quite a good chance we'll lose the likes of Tiote, Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Janmaat possibly even Townsend too.

Think he will stay personally, has a rapport with Rafa and I think he can use this season to make him stronger for the next under Rafa and getting a full solid season under his belt, which he wouldn't be guaranteed at a Premier League club to an extent. I think his end product has looked good since hes came in, surprising to me that he was criticized for this while at Spurs, seems to cross quite well with both feet too. Would be gutted if we did lose him, I think him, Lascelles, Mbemba, Dummett, Mitro and Perez are the core players we must keep this season above all others.
