  1. Could argue that happened to SBR. The Window when we only signed Bowyer Speed sold without his prior knowledge Sacked after finishing the season before in 5th. We were a totally different club with ambition then. The Bowyer summer was the exception, never the rule. Plus, who did we attract then? The worst manager in recent NUFC history. I reckon Pardew has a worst win % Win % can be a problematic way to assess managers. Especially if it shows them in a worst light than you want them to When Roeder and Souness are within 2% of Sir Bobby Robson you see why it's a problem. Having said that Pardew has a win% of 35. Allardyce clocked 33%. Considering for all intents and purposes we have peaked under Pardew its pretty grim.

  3. I'd hate to see him excel tbf. Would be a sad indictment upon the club.
  4. I don't really care for in depth tactical discussion, certainly not from a commentator. It would just be nice to have someone call things properly, like dives, fouls etc. Really slate players. Also if coverage could be less big club biased it would be considerably more enjoyable.
  5. They're not as exposed to him as we are. I guess for access reasons its difficult for Journalists to be overly critical.
  6. Get the feeling Pardew has been indiscriminately flirting with Louise Taylor, she always praises him.
  7. Totally agree, almost nobody offers any real insight... it's just a job for ex-footballers who don't know what else to do. The gulf between the standard of cricket and football 'punditry', highlighted in recent weeks, is frightening. Watching the cricket, I feel as if I'm learning more about the game, as well as being interested and entertained. Never felt that way with Peter Beagrie. Football needs a Henry Blofeld. I actually think Barton might be quite good. I know he divides opinion but he is forthright with his views, would call a spade a spade and if popular, would do a lot to break the current hegemony.

  9. Imagine if they cut out all the talking. Think how many more minutes highlights fans would get.
  10. It won't make or break our season but could make all the difference to him.
  11. He really isn't likeable at all. Think our two games against West Ham have the potential to be the most infuriating games of the season.
  12. To be fair I don't think he has any say in when and how our transfers get done. That being said I prefer it if he just said nothing.
  13. I can't wait for the season to start. The Summer is insufferable (from a football point of view).
  14. Im looking forward to the inevitable early season loss to a team that had a European game 2 days beforehand. "I just felt that they had a little bit more match sharpness about them. We're not quite up to the speed they are. Think that extra game just gave them an edge today."
  15. I like the look of this, but if we both bet on it there is no chance. You must have went ahead and bet then. I swear, I didn't touch it.
