  1. i'm just surprised he hasn't gotten frustrated with our manager and left the club yet. Everyone can see he has talent. I remember seeing comments from some Arsenal fans after the 7-3 game about how he was one of the most impressive players on the pitch despite the eventual scoreline. Pardew doesn't seem to notice it sadly. For all the (deserved) complaining about how Anita doesn't get a chance, Sylvain has shown more and still hasn't able to get a fair share of playing time. He's going to be one of those players who just slips through the cracks and we will never know exactly what we had.
  2. Can't even get that tweet right.
  3. There's plenty around but they're just not getting regular games. That's the problem in only selecting players from the 'big clubs' where they will probably never realistically break through. Where are the Southampton players (Shaw, Ward-Prowse and Clyne) who have actually played in the Premier League.
  4. Sammy being not rated at all by us, but yet still in the England youth setup says everything. People wonder why England has no promising players anymore..

  6. Wish it was true, it's about time we moved onto other targets from different leagues. Anyone with that kind of goal ratio has got to be worth a try if the price isn't ridiculous.
  7. And Brad Evans. No idea why he brought up those two. Just to stick it to Seattle for signing Dempsey
  8. RAWK Meltdown ‏@RAWK_Meltdown 16h Brenny are you OK? Are you OK, Are you OK Brenny? You've been hit by (clap clap) You've been struck by (clap) A pass and move criminal. Hope that was serious
  9. Hughes has looked like great prospect every time I've seen him. The exact age group we should be targeting as well (if we were buying English players). The only problem is that he's already priced at 10 million or something ridiculous. In this market you can't really blame them for asking for way too much since someone is bound to pay it (or more) eventually. Hughes is a Liverpool fan too, I think, so it's only a matter of time till that happens. Some Bigi-like signings of unknown, lower league English players would be the way to go, in my opinion. Low risk, high reward. If a few of them make it eventually we either have a young core of English players or a potential asset for our owner to make millions off. Basically a younger version of what Aston Villa are doing.
  10. Hope no English team wins Europe this year, cause that extra midweek game at the start of the season is getting annoying. I have way too many players from Chelsea and Villa. I don't know if the potential extra points are worth it.
  11. GW1: Liverpool 3-0 Stoke City Arsenal 2-2 Aston Villa Norwich 1-1 Everton Sunderland 2-0 Fulham West Brom 0-0 Southampton West Ham 1-0 Cardiff City Swansea 2-2 Man Utd Crystal Palace 0-2 Tottenham Chelsea 5-0 Hull City Man City 4-1 Newcastle Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa
  12. Only thing keeping me awake here, boring game so far.
  13. Is Westwood sticking in the lineup with all the new signings? I liked the look of him last year, so I grabbed him as an extra mid.
  14. Thought it was pretty brutal. I did laugh at the end when those glasses people (or whoever they were) said something like "if you're outgoing but extremely boring then you should support Sunderland". Rebecca Lowe wasn't bad, pretty knowledgeable especially in the show they had on after. Everything else was cringeworthy. They milked 'You'll Never Walk Alone', and probably made some more fake Liverpool fans. I'm going to miss FSC, although I keep forgetting that I'm leaving the country and won't see most of the new coverage.. So fuck it.
  15. Right around where we should be.. The top of the rankings are still fucked though. Brazil hardly got any credit for winning the Confederations Cup.
  16. The player loses out on any loyalty bonuses and transfer fee, so the selling club get to keep the lot. That makes sense, thanks.
  17. Is a Transfer Request anything more than a formality? For example in the Suarez situation, everyone at Liverpool knows that he wants to go. He has said so multiple times, so isn't the idea that he might put in a 'Transfer Request' as a last resort kind of redundant? Or does it do more than just formally requesting a transfer?
  18. What a great game. Carlisle shows that not all youngsters shit the bed in the cups, just ours.
  19. I think the only way we could realistically jump a level and compete with the rich clubs is to invest heavily in our Academy. It would take time and patience but if you want British talent that is the way to go. Another way would be taking chances on young, cheap, lower league talent like Villa have been doing. While most of them might not make it in the premier league they will have stuck 'gold' with a few. Otherwise the prices for British players are just too insane for this ownership to ever be interested in (and with good reason).
  20. Yup, I'd rather not get rid of someone just because they had one horrible season. He has been here for a bit now and deserves the chance to prove that he isn't finished. I don't want him starting or playing a lot even, but with our lack of depth and injury history I don't know why people desperately want to get rid of him. Maybe he could contribute more when he isn't playing every minute of every single game.
  21. think you guys need another striker. You've played well in this tournament but it hasn't been reflected in the scores at all. Jelavic looks like he has no confidence at all.
