Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Really pleased for him and thought he didn’t look out of place. My main issue is I struggle to see how he fits into the team once Willock and Joelinton are back. -

The worst game I’ve seen him play under Howe. Could barely string a pass together today.

I am fuming at that twat for bringing off Tonali.
-
We always leak a load of goals when Tonali comes off. Keep him bloody on

Contract talks gone to his head

Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 Newcastle United (02/09/23)

Their heads are all over the place -
I am tired, just so tired of the referrees in the PL
-
Bruno getting stick but Joelinton doesn’t offer much at the moment other than barging into people
-
Absolutely love it, but have to say that looked a soft red. I’ll take it.

Feels like since the takeover there has been various factions of people looking to gain as much influence as possible as they know we are going to get bigger and bigger. This has resulted in this clickbait shite.

It annoys me how people say this Man City squad is the best PL squad ever assembled. There are some really good players but the Invincible team and 08 Man U would destroy this current Man City team. Imagine peak Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez against this defence.

To be honest players like ASM or Maddison would have made a huge different this game. We are lacking those truly creative players in midfield that can make something out of nothing. If teams mark Isak out the game, our creativity in 1 in 1 situations isn’t that great. Look at Foden today where he was almost unplayable one on one. If we are being honest Gordon is going to have to improve a lot to justify the ASM sale.

Didn’t he stand by Giggs and reinstate him after the early allegations of domestic abuse?
-
Seen Marc Cucurella play a few times. He is a ball watching merchant. Constantly gets sucked out of position whilst the winger has fields of space behind him. Would be an awful signing.

Mings likely out for the season.

Sometimes managers like Emery are too egotistical and try to out press us. The only team I’ve seen do that is Arsenal. You try to play at our game and we will run you into the ground especially at St James. Same with Brighton last season. Players like Trippier, Schar, Botman are really good at playing out of a press. I am surprised managers haven’t tried more often to just sit back and counter us, we still struggle against those teams.

First goal has immediately gone into one of my all time favourite Newcastle goals. So many narratives: Tonali first goal The start of Gordon redemption arc First goal of the season Smashing Villa First time cross and barnstorming volley

Said previously, reminds me of Marcus Reus. Clinical inside forward

I imagine Gordon has been picked for his pressing at the start of the game -
Caicedo was shocking bad against us. I really don’t know how someone is pay £111m for him
-
Lol play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I have no clue why clubs don’t just recruit from abroad. They could get the same quality player for 40-50m max.

Jacob Murphy looked very good at RB yesterday and has clearly been learning from Trippier. I would cancel this transfer and focus on LB and CB with our remaining funds.

Ultimately pre-season results and goals means little. Lads need to get fully focused as Aston Villa will be very tough and likely one of our rivals for the top 4 this season.
