Its a Long one (a longstaff one, haha) but I can post it up if its ok with admins (being from The Athletic)?
-
Theres a great piece about Longy on The Athletic today, talking about his time under Bruce, his turnaround under Howe, and some funny stuff at the end. Think its already been documented, but his time under Bruce almost broke him... poor lad.

Exactly, thats why I wasn't sure I could remember it happening before. Surely it sets a precedent for any future poor results/performances? Did Bournemouth fans get their ticket cost back when they got humped 9-0 at Anfield? incidentally, when that result happened, the media was full of how good Liverpool were, and none of them called Bournemouth embarrassing or woeful. It was just, Wow, Liverpool pur 9 past them, aren't they great??!!
-
Haha, seen this loads of times, fans calling out that the players shoudl reimburse them for travelling to a bad result/defeat (in fairness, it used to be mackems). However, this is the first time I can remember a club actually coming out and offering it! The full statement probably had a footnote... * All fans except those who walked out at 21 minutes

Said it myself on the matchday, that Spurs were bad, but the media are definitely dressing it up as Spurs being really bad rather than give us too much credit. 'Woeful' 'Embarrassing' , etc. Yet, much better teams than us have played worse teams than Spurs, and only one other has been 5-0 up within 20 minutes. So Spurs were bad on the day, but they were also taken apart by our intensity, our play and performance. We were just unplayable in that first 20 minutes. But of course, easier for the national media to slate them than praise us too much, I guess.

They'll have been devastated about yesterday. They win, pushing into the play off spots, then we go and hump Spurs and steal all their limelight, again. They'll be throwing cheesy chips and blue pop at their tellys tonight when the Magedia of Tyne Tees News and Look North are on.
-
Harsh. I watched Brian Tinnion play. And Mark Stimson.

According to the Sky planner, the little goldfish (Jenas) is on MOTD2 tonight, which should be funny, as he's generally been more pro-Spurs than us from recent memory.
-
Hopefully they get hit with another of those odd freak results, like they did against Liverpool recently, or Man City earlier in the season.
-
As they said on commentary, once it gets to sudden death, your into the players who didn't want to take one of the first 5, so. Unlucky Brighton, just nee cutting edge up front.
-
Said it before, still don't think run up should be allowed to check/stop to try and make keeper move early
-
Good pella's so far, from both sides. /kissofdeathplanted/
-
Only annoying thing from today. Kane got past Schar too easily for their goal, and as nice as 6-1 is, would have loved the clean sheet. Always an annoyance when the opposition get a consolation in a thrashing. Leicester 7-1 end of 92/93 season, Mackems 5-1, etc.
-
Mitoma heavy touch, thought he was in there.
-
Hope Brighton have been practising pella's!!

Just watching those highlights (with Radio Newcastle commentary) and what was great was, there was a match with 7 goals scored in total, and none of them were dubious, and/or needed any kind of VAR check.
-
Thing is, Murph has always got into good positions in/around the box, but always managed to fluff the finish... either wide/over or hitting the frame. If he can bring composure to his finishing, he could be quite the asset next season. First one today was a great finish from the angle, but second was a bit 'hit and hope' and amazingly it flew in. Would love to see him tuck one or two away wehn he gets put through, too.

Only just realised Rashford was playing. Seems like the first time he's been shown/mentioned!
-
Said it once, will say it again. Ferandes is such a horrible cheating little rat, like. I'm an honourary Seagull this afternoon, as my boss is a Brighton fan and is down there at the game today.
-
Haha, Sky just showed Murph's 2nd again. The slow-mo shock and awe on his face is fantastic.
-
Aye, because that worked!
