Yes, of course they would. The owners can be split into 3 broad categories. Sky 6. FFP protects them. Ambitious owners, ourselves, Villa and forest. We hate FFP. Happy to be on the gravy train. They also like FFP as it limits the amount they have to Invest. Lets not kid ourselves, these clubs all happily passed these rules as it limits the exposure they all have.

FFP working as intended, hats off to the sky 6 and the rest of the league for passing such favourable rules and getting the entire country ti believe they are intended to protect clubs.

I find it highly unlikely we are spending 80m euro on a defender tbh, the fee is so high you can’t resell, it’s a massive gamble signing such a young player for so much. It would require such incredible conviction to do so, I know our FFP situation is due to improve shortly but even then I can’t see it.

Interesting point, I guess the answer would be one is a worthless money sink and one is an asset which has appreciated and will continue to do so as long as they invest.

Probably has been, although you can’t just tweak such a thing without considering how it effects the press and space left in front of the defence.
