Without doubt. 50m for a guy who's 29 and no European football experience plus off to AFCON is crazy
  3. Of course he cares man come off. Please find me a person who is happy to be paid less than half of what peers of similar ability are getting when they have the option to get the same. Your not appeasing his agent, your paying him correctly and increasing your chances of keeping him. If it's ordained he's going next season no matter what then it's whatever.
  4. Ornstein also dropped the only wanted Arsenal. That tells you all you need to know with regards to who's paying
  5. Yeah so no issue, he goes elsewhere and gets it. This is what people are saying, if we don't offer him what's he's worth he will be off.
  6. Yeah and he can play for any of those clubs. Why would Isak care about the market being fucked if players worst than him are paid that much?
  7. Market value is what his peers are paid, closest comparison is probably Haaland. How much is Haaland on?
  8. He's flopped in England unfortunately, maybe the can find some mug to give them 43m but I doubt a PL club does.
  9. We were? What stopped us?
  10. I think I skipped that, was it that bad?
  11. I think all my posts are reasonable thank you
  12. Uninspiring because he won't be cheap and won't get much better. He's a good player don't get me wrong but id want us to be more ambitious and signing players who's ceiling is higher.
  13. I see your point but id suggest you withhold an initial judgement until the window closes. As fans we love to complain about missing out on targets etc, but we'd be as annoyed if we didn't go in for these players in the first place. I remember being very critical of the window where we got Tino Sandro etc but with the benefit of hindsight I'd argue it's our most successful one.
  14. Yeah it's a very minor point admittedly. But such a signing speaks of paired down ambition to me at least.
  15. Because the world is about money. I know you've been paying attention so you do realise literally nothing is more important than money in this world of ours.
  16. He's not bad, but won't improve. It's a signing that funds our rivals and doesn't really push us forward. Would be hoping for someone with a much higher ceiling. It's a west ham, Fulham, palace signing.
  17. As one of the most vocal advocates of having some structure in place where the manager is provided with a list of targets I think your comment isn't fair. Eddie and the work he has done both with the team and in the market has been second to none. He's not perfect and obviously won't be able to get everything right but his hit rate is much higher than those who are at clubs with a model I advocate. Ultimately all of us need be flexible and trust each other a bit more, obviously one of Mitchell in particular bit flaws was he took an apparent adverserial approach which damaged any potential trust from the off.
  18. Yeah maybe, or it just keep going. The end of football has been speculated on for at least 20 years yet it keeps trucking on albeit it with slower growth. Football oddly needs some inequality to function, nobody is paying to watch Ipswich Vs Burnley at the end of the day. These kind of clubs are only bringing in so much money because of the company they keep.
  19. Yeah didn't include this part as I don't view it as relevant, we all know what's taken place That being said, the congratulations us back slapping needs to stop. Well done what we got a player in from a club worst than us with no competition. Give them an award.
  20. Why would anything give? Not many clubs are unhappy with the rules as they are. Big clubs get guaranteed cl football, everyone else gets to ride the gravy rain. Only the upstarts do not like it but the system fits perfectly with the countries rentier like nature.
  21. Pretty depressing ngl
