  1. TLDR - PL SCR = 85% So Clubs in Europe = 70% Clubs not in Europe = 85% Also this which isn’t in UEFA: > “Clubs will have a multi-year allowance of 30 per cent that they can use to spend in excess of the 85 per cent. Utilising this allowance will incur a levy and once the allowance is exhausted, they will need to comply with 85 per cent or face a sporting sanction.” Stolen from Reddit. So basically a sweetener so it passes. We have to raise our revenues before we utilise this allowance.
  2. Those rules won't loosened. Devil is in the detail re squad cost. If we can spend up to 125% without points deductions we are ok. If the punishment remains as they are now then say hello to an even stronger glass ceiling.
  3. Please name some, id like to know who your referring to. Imo we should be aiming for the best players we can regardless of where they currently play. Obviously they should be 24 or younger too. That being said, I'm not quite sure what our goals or ambitions are so it's all a bit moot.
  4. We can't afford the best u25 players from the premier league sadly. What's the going rate for a Wharton for example?
  5. Aye yes, disrupted pre season And 3 games a week are the reason why we are turgid and no further explanation or analysis is required.

Did Germany run out only striker into the ground this International break?
  8. The speed he moves at you could argue his leg fell off long ago
  9. They are throwing shade at our current set up
  10. Need to see the fine print If it passes and obviously this is very dependent on our owners backing up the big talk.
  11. Devil is in the details but if you can consistently spend 115% and only ever get fined then that's an improvemend deal for ambitious clubs.
  12. Premier League financial reforms and football news Premier League faces rebellion over proposed financial reforms, while other football news includes Champions League highlights, Euro 2028 discussions, and sponsorship deals. 1. Premier League Financial Reforms Proposed Changes and Opposition: Premier League clubs are debating new financial rules, with potential votes next week, requiring 14 clubs to back each proposal for implementation. One proposal is to replace Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) with a squadcost ratio (SCR), limiting spending on player wages, transfers, and agent fees to 85% of revenue. Concerns exist that SCR would disproportionately affect clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Brentford, potentially diminishing competitive balance. Contentious Aspects and Legal Threats: Fines for breaching the 85% limit under SCR would go to compliant clubs, likely benefiting larger teams already adhering to UEFA's stricter 70% limit. Sporting sanctions would be imposed for spending 115% or more of revenues on player and agent costs under the SCR plan. Another proposed vote on "anchoring" would cap spending at five times the TV and prize money received by the bottomplaced club, facing opposition from the PFA and several clubs, including Manchester's two teams. The PFA has threatened legal action and plans to meet with captains of all 20 topflight clubs next week to discuss the proposed salary cap. 2. UEFA and International Football News Champions League Highlights and Rights: The BBC has renewed hope of retaining Champions League highlights from the 202728 season, as UEFA is pleased with the reach achieved despite the BBC's limited financial resources. Relevent Football is managing the rights process, with TNT Sports favored for UK live rights, while Sky Sports prioritizes Premier League bids. World Cup and European Qualifying: UEFA has ruled out using a Champions Leaguestyle system for future World Cup and European qualifying tournaments, finding the Swiss model unsuitable for international qualifying. A working group is exploring alternatives, with strong consideration given to utilizing the Nations League more extensively for tournament qualification purposes. Euro 2028 Discussions: UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin met with Sir Keir Starmer to discuss Euro 2028 plans, with Starmer expressing delight in discussing football amidst political challenges. Starmer supports UEFA's decision against dynamic pricing for Euro 2028, citing concerns about pricing practices observed in the 2026 World Cup. 3. Cricket and Other Sports News TNT Sports and Barmy Army Partnership: TNT Sports has partnered with the Barmy Army for the Ashes, becoming the official sponsor of "Finchy," the England supporters' group's trumpeter, and the lead sponsor for official merchandise sold in Australia. This partnership marks a significant evolution from the Barmy Army's origins as cashstrapped backpackers selling "Atherton's Barmy Army" Tshirts during the 199495 Ashes tour. Ben Duckett's Ashes Prioritization: England batsman Ben Duckett declined a lucrative offer to replace Harry Brook in the Delhi Capitals IPL team, prioritizing optimal preparation for the Ashes. Duckett's decision reflects his commitment to avoiding burnout and ensuring peak performance for the Ashes tour, despite the financial incentives of the IPL. 4. Legal and Regulatory Issues Trump Pardon and Premier League Dilemma: Donald Trump's pardon of Joe Lewis, former Tottenham Hotspur owner convicted of insider trading, presents a complex legal challenge for the Premier League and the incoming football regulator. The central question is whether a presidential pardon nullifies the conviction under the owners' and directors' test, potentially allowing Lewis to reengage with the club.
  13. If rule breaches become mere fines that's really good for us (IF our owners ambitions are what they claim)

Aye, I mean I'm sure we are trying to nudge him that way but ultimately we knew what we were getting mind. I think the bottom line is the player will be deciding, he's got form when it comes to getting his own way

    Lewis Hall

One of the best left backs in the league, so aye u21 is beneath him.

Unfortunately for us it doesn't work that way. They can call him up and play him as much as they like, we have no say. If he wants to play for his country we are shit out of luck.

Sounds like they are gaming it so he doesn't go afcon.
  18. They probably told him he'd have the chance to compete for the starting spot and told him Emerson was likely off. I expect they didn't say so much about Donurumma. They have all the leverage so won't be arsed, if he wants to go the world cup he can't afford to sulk he has to push on and perform when given his chance. No lose scenario for city.
  19. I think that's over stated honestly, I mean look at Chelsea last season half the squad thrown in the bin yet still made money when they sold them a year later and still qualified for the champions League. They've done him dirty but he's a fool who's done himself dirty as well, nobody forced him to sign for them.
  20. I don't know how good he is, but my personal approach would be just to throw money at the best keeper we can find. Given keepers aren't rotated and don't get injured it doesn't make much sense to try and develop one.
  21. It's a free option for them. They have a capable back up and a world class starter. Worst case is they sell him and break even in accounting terms.
  22. With Mitchell out of the way I reckon we will be back for him.
  23. Listening to the athletic podcast on illegal piracy, no idea why as so far it's basically an anti privacy PSA. We got as nuanced as the 3pm blackout.
