Was it Barnsley fans that, when they were relegated in '97 or '98 I think, claimed that games were rigged (refs bribed) for them to get relegated and for us, Spurs and Everton to stay up?
There seems to be a lot of romanticising about how that season went. Granted we appear to have been better then than we are now, but the first half of that season certainly wasn't clean sailing all the way through. There were a few dodgy results and unconvincing wins.
We were stable. With great experience and attitude as well as quality in the squad.
