I don't know who even said this, but having a legit moral quarrel without being completely black or white is the worst kind of horseshit? Reminds me of a George W. Bush quote.

Although I admit I am curious of whether my enthusiasm will withstand over time – especially when the plastic fans starts getting on the train – I don't have it in me to walk away. I am Newcastle United, and there's no changing that. I do however feel the «we as a football club has no power»-excuse being extremely passive. We didn't have the power to remove Ashley either, but that sure as hell didn't bear any hindrance to speaking up. I actually kinda respect not giving a toss about what's going on in Saudi-Arabia, but don't mask it by saying it's not up to us and that we shouldn't care beacause we don't have any direct influence – a bland and content club without opinions and lacking the will to speak up is exactly what I fear oil gazillions will turn us into.

Saying Saudi isn't really that bad will make us sound like complete newly bribed idiots. Being happy for getting rid of Ashley will not. Keep those things separated. Even though Qatar and Saudi are running sportswashing campaigns, doesn't mean supporters either have to support the regime or run a boycot ffs. You don't have to say Harvey Weinstein is innocent just because you enjoy a Miramax-movie.

You don't have to take the «but what can I do? I am just one individual»-approach to take a stand. You don't have to run a whole tirade of whatabout-ism to take a stand. You don't have to make it sound like they're «not really that bad». Just say you stand behind the team and not the owners. Simple as that.

Feels like the perfect final FU from Ashley selling us to a dictator. But he can't even do that right.

If we do more business with Marseille we're gonna get raided by the HMRC again.

This thread is on par with the most annoying sh*t out there. It's like racists debating flat earth-nuts. No room for a middle way on either side.

For a #10, his 1 in 7 goals per game ratio doesn't instil me with confidence It's even worse in Serie A, admittedly he's be played deeper in a 2 or 3 man midfield, but still. Agreed. He is still young and could well improve a lot, but an immediate impact seems unlikely. Then again... do have have better available options atm? -

Praet has good work rate and a pretty good first touch from what I have seen (mostly Anderlecht in CL and EL). Tries ambitious balls but doesn't always succeed. Not the strongest physically, but has good balance and likes to throw in a tackle. A bit similar to Sigurdsson a couple years back maybe? -
Still. Three assists from open play last season. Why would you exclude his 10 set piece assists? They're buying him for that and his goal threat, not his assists and goals from open play. Even then he's still a clever player in non-set piece situations, so it's not like he's the free kick version of Dean Whitehead or something. With Lukaku still in the side I would agree it's a good signing, but with Sandro and Rooney? Most of those set-piece assist last season was to Llorente - won't be as easy this season. In open play he had 26 key passes last season. Barkley had 56. Not worth the fee imo.

Like Manquillo I think Joselu might shine given proper managing and a style of play that suits him -

I wonder if one of the reasons we always have a hard time shifting players is the insane amout of "he's sh*t", "garbage", "worthless", "I'm gonna hang myself if he starts" etc. being thrown around -
Coutinho has become invaluable for them imo as so much goes through him. Salah couldn't fill his role. He is much more of a winger - at least it would take time to play him into that role. Lallana isn't even close to be able to replace Coutinho. I think they will get Van Dijk anyway and Keita will move next summer.

Please buy Coutinho and ruin Liverpool

According to Transfermarkt we have the second largest squad i the PL right now with 32 players and are ranked at 14th considering total market value of our players. All though WBA are ranked below us, they have a higher average market value in their squad - and it says they per now only have 20 registered players in their squad(?). We desperately need to trade in the fillers for some quality And only Spurs have a lower average age -

Am I the only one not 100% sold on Lucas Perez? The man is 28 and has one good full season on his resume. Yes, he looked good on occation for Arsenal, but so did Nicklas Bendtner.
