Southampton vs. Newcastle United - 6/11/22 @ 2pm (Sky Sports)

2 in the last 3 years though to be fair! What worries me is that they're a weird team. They can lose a bunch of games or get battered 9-0 and then go on to pull a few wins out of the bag. -
Toughest group we've had since Euro 2008, definitely plenty of opportunity to drop points if we're sloppy. No excuse for not finishing top 2 though.
-
Agree with this. I don't want to disrespect Scholes at all, but he's become one of those players it's fashionable to rate as one of your favourite all time players.
-
Not gonna lie I'd be a bit disappointed if we did end up finishing behind Brighton - a side that regularly starts Welbeck in 2022. They have as many points as they did at this stage last season so hopefully won't be European contenders again this year.
-
There were lots of great ones in 2018 as well, it's a shame. Half of them this time would look 100x better if they were just one solid colour with no pattern on it (especially England and Portugal's home shirts). I thought that Dutch kit was a yellow keeper kit when I first saw it, takes some skill to mess up the Dutch kit.
-
Have to say it's a disappointing start but no need for major panic just yet. Feel like we have to work extra hard to get anything - could just as easily have had 7 points from the last 3 instead of 2.
-
Relax people. Mowbray teams always look class first half of the season before fading away badly.

West Ham United P-P Newcastle United - 11/9/22 @ 2pm (Sky Sports)

Disgrace if these get cancelled. 1 day of national mourning for the funeral with events being cancelled is maybe appropriate. This would just be doing something for the sake of doing something (for the benefit of nobody). -
What is actually going on with Liverpool? If I didn't hate them, I'd be worried about how the 9-0 hasn't kickstarted their season.
-
Pickford supposedly out for 3 or 4 weeks. Wonder if Pope will start England's games this month (he really should).
-
I'd expect England to really struggle to break down Queiroz's Iran.

Tariq Panja's principles melting away once he has the opportunity to further his career. Who could have foreseen this?

Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace; post match frustration from p26

Another kick in the balls today, but very confident we're on the right track. I'm confident of better results when our injured players return and our luck changes, -
The ideal outcome!

TBH I have no clue what is a red card these days. Commentators and Peter Walton adamant it's not red, but feel the same challenge could happen next week and they'd say it is a red.
-
After the shitshow last night, I'm not going to be able to stop myself noticing how much injury time gets played in every match this season.

Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace - 3/9/22 @ 3:00pm (No UK TV)

Got to fancy us at home against anyone. Would feel a lot better without the injuries, hard fought midweek game and 1 day fewer rest. Think we should be targeting 10 points from next 5 games. Ambitious but realistic and 16pts from 10 games would be a class start. -
Always the same against them. Salah's diving, Fabinho getting that late free kick in the 2-3 at SJP for absolutely nothing, absolutely robbed at Anfield last year too.
-
I can accept the game going beyond 95 minutes, but the idea that extra time should be added on to cover the time taken on a goal kick is ridiculous. Never see this happen. Almost all games finish on time unless there is a goal or sub.
-
I saw this, a few of them were moaning about the disallowed goal too. They can be a weird bunch, swear they despise UEFA for no reason other than their inability to win the Champions League.
-
People can get so carried away with having keepers who are good with their feet these days. Give me a good shotstopper and reader of the game like Pope any day!

Newcastle United vs. Manchester City - 21/8/22 @ 4:30pm (Sky Sports)
ilikenewcastle replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
I think if City play the way they did last season we can definitely get something this time, I remember being frustrated at how little City had to do to get their 4-0. The non penalty incident was genuinely disgraceful and in the age of VAR just dodgy as hell. -

We'll lose but not get disgraced. Apart from last season when we were a shambles, this fixture has generally been close (at least in terms of scoreline). -
And I've seen people on here saying we are miles away from the top 6...

https://football-italia.net/juventus-focus-on-depay-as-newcastle-close-on-muriel/ Not seen much about us and Muriel lately and don't really trust Italian media, but what would we think of this?
