He spoke about his rotations during post-match interview; basically said the way players exert themselves in training helps to shape the team, plus he also likes to keep players competitive and on their toes.

At a 1 now like. Obviously cant be a 0 until it’s mathematically impossible to go down, but we’re so unlikely to go down I can’t justify anything other than a 1. We’re 100/1 with most bookies now too. Wouldn’t be surprised if 35 points was enough, but will be nice to hit 40 points soon.

Cant change the image as I'm using my phone but West ham have some tough games They look tricky, but other than Stoke - none of those teams have anything to play for (or wont have by the time West Ham play them). It’s the time of the year where top/midtable teams put their flip flops on and the teams fighting relegation pick up wins. Whilst based on name those fixtures are tough, West Ham will end up being fine.

Bossed the game but was blowing out of his arse at the end. They were attacking on the edge of the box and he was stood with his hands on his knees, would have got absolutely pelted if they’d have scored.

A new LB and RB are needed, although we could cope if we had the same 4 for what Rafa expects. That said - the backup options aren’t really good enough, an injury or two and we’d be exposed.

‘only know as my friend watches it’ Oh aye, Nick’s not been in it for years man.

He’d be one of the leagues top scorers? Howay -
Cisse (one player) pretty much single handedly kept us up with his goals once. Replace him with Gayle/Joselu and we’d have gone down that season. Remy the season before that too. Of course one quality player (particularly an attacking player) can be the difference of 8-10 points over the course of a season man, get away. Wonder if Everton would have 8-10 more points if they still had Lukaku.

I can only presume there is a clause where WBA can sack him without compensation if they are relegated, which is why they haven’t already pulled the trigger. It is quite enjoyable watching his public humiliation though.

They’ve had 9. 5 PL seasons you’d have to go back for us to reach that

You can say that again.

Hogg is a right little scrote like. He was having an argument with his own keeper shortly before he pretended Shelvey broke his jaw. Strutted around the pitch with his arms out like Mr Big Bollocks but went scampering off to the referee to whinge and moan at any opportunity. There was absolutely nothing in the Shelvey incident at all. He was lucky to stay on the field, but obviously our opponents don’t ever get sent off so it was to be expected. In the same mold as Cattermole and McManaman - tosser.

Punched in the gob by Lascelles and has not looked back since. Outstanding turnaround, I love Diame I do.

Blaming everyone but himself, again.

A decent CF in the summer and we’d currently be fighting for European football*, infuriating to say the least. *providing Southampton don’t win the FA Cup. We wouldn't like. We'd be comfortable though and not worrying about relegation the way we have recently. Burnley are 11 points ahead of us, if we had a proper PL CF we could easily have 10 more points on the board and fighting for that place. Burnley (h and a), Swansea (h), Everton (h), Leicester (h), Brighton (h and a), Bournemouth (h and a) - all games where a better CF in the team would have seen us have a higher points total. Burnley away wasn't really bad finishing as all round poor and negative play, as was Brighton away. Everton home was just bad luck, Swansea Home we didn't squander much. We kind of agree I just dont think we'd have been as high up. I don't think our squad is a s bad as some try to make out but we are desperately lacking in a very vital area. We had 17 shots in the Brighton away game, compared to their 7. We had plenty of chances to get something. Swansea we should have won, we missed plenty of decent chances. Burnley I’ll concede, but you could just replace that for Southampton away where we could have won if we had took one of our decent chances. Even 8-9 points more would have us fighting for 7th place - that’s turning 3 draws into wins and Everton or Leicester (h) around. Easily doable if we had a PL striker on our books. 17 shots maybe but I don't remember coming away from it thinking we deserved something from the game. Makes me think they weren't good chances. BBC Chronicle Would look for more, but cant be arsed Anyway, I think we agree in the main. With a few points difference.

Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)
Figures 1-0 Football replied to astraguy's topic in Football
Not really. Quite a few were bleating on about his goals per minute record at Palace when the reason he started so little was because he wasn't good enough to play week in, week out. It's really a weird one. The chances he's missing he would put away comfortably in the championship. Confidence. Plus he gets a lot less time, opportunity and better goalkeeping in the PL. -
Plays really well with the ball for someone who isn’t good with the ball.

A really positive first half, gasping for a decent striker to finish one of the chances we created. Could and should have been out of sight by HT. Although it’s very pleasing that we didn’t let it go on to be a 0-0 or very Newcastle-like 0-1. Pleased that we dug in and got the result against a really poor Huddersfield side who were playing for 0-0 from the first minute.
