  1. So it is. f***ing hell What memories. Someone at the club must have liked accordian music, because they played Brendan Shine's Do you want your Old Lobby Washed Down almost every matchday as well. And Some Girls by Racey. I reckon they only had three records. Apparently it was a ploy by Seymour & the board to play that sort of music to try and keep the crowd calm in the Gallowgate.
  2. You might remember this UB. Back in the mid/late 80's (circa Gazza days), at half time, they used to play this shitty little song that was just an Accordian instrumental thing. Haven't a clue what it was or who it was by. That ring any bells with you? That's the one.....look it up on YouTube.
  3. They should have the Clap Clap Sound by the Klaxons also. One for the teenagers.
  4. Absolute classic, still gives me chills. Best world cup in my memory anarl. 86 was decent too and 98 was good but the world cup will always be Italia 90 for me. It had loads of standout incidents and England really should have won it, but apparently it was the lowest scoring WC ever......and the final was an absolute shocker. Spain 82 for me personally.
  5. I'm not laughing too much, this could be us in 3 years time if Ashley pisses around too much longer and Rafa/Lascelles leave.
  6. I'd say they're similar so if you can get £10m plus for Gayle and sign Hernandez for free and give us some extra funds for a first choice striker, it's worth it Imo. This.
  7. Lascelles shouldn't be sold at any price.
  8. We'll sign King. That's what my heart yearns for now.
  9. Much preferred it myself, played by characters who smoked/drank that could win games with outrageous skill rather than rely on 6ft athletes who could run 16k a match. The world cups from England 66 to Italia 90 were great as well, and piss all over anything in the last 20 years.....in my opinion anyway.

Tim Nice-But-Dim will sidetrack them by unveiling his new FTM tattoo live on Facebook.

Very surprised to hear this news mind.

"So it’s always been a club that I’ve been somewhat fond of from an early age — for some reason I’ve always had an antipathy towards Newcastle. I mean that wasn’t a determining factor in this, but it does mean I’ve always had a slight soft spot for Sunderland because I’ve always found Newcastle to be a rather arrogant club." https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/als-methven-interview.1432242/ From their new PR fella Methven.....and of course they're lapping it up. Glorious.
  13. Exactly, it's almost as if they're trying their very hardest to hold the club back......as well as seemingly being the only club in England desperate to post a financial loss. It's fair to say, we'd be out of business if it wasn't for the incredible generosity of Big Mike.

Indeed, it seems like the Shopacheck Shepherd literally cannot keep his mouth shut and they're lapping everything up.....exactly what they used to accuse us of doing under our former gobshite owner. To be fair to Fat Fred, he didn't end up shacked up with any of the 'ladies' he met in gentlemen's clubs either.

Some Scotch cunt that literally no one has heard of - I thought they said the pisstake party was over!
  16. Any explanations as to why the wage bill went up so dramatically?

Would love to know the details of their future repayments to Short........there's no way he's effectively giving away the club for nowt to a couple of gobshite chancers to possibly make a load of money out of it. My guess is that they actually owe more money than they did previously, as 100% of their debt is now external to Uncle Ellis. Apparently we're the gullible cunts who will lap anything up though.
  18. Do you think he's international class? He's not Franco Baresi but did you see Cahill play last weekend?

https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/stewart-donald-on-brink-of-sunderland-takeover-after-successful-efl-talks-1-9171706 "Short is set to clear the club's debt but will be paid for its assets over a period of time". Interesting.
  20. 2 good strikers would make a huge difference to our side TBF. I think Rafa would settle for 50m plus sales to be honest, it'll be the training ground plans that will be the issue, as effectively, Ashley has no intentions of spending a bean on it, or any long term plans in place at all. Rafa is constantly talking about the potential of the place and ambition.....and we all know Ashley has absolutely none as far as NUFC is concerned.
  21. I'm sorry but that's s****......they had a deal agreed in principle, then Ashley went out, got p*ssed at a business lunch and bad mouthed them to his pals at Sky. Is this the 3rd time this club has been 'for sale'......and Ashley the business genius still hasn't managed to sell it?!
  22. Yep, not my fault Guv..............and nothing from Rafa since.
  23. I like the Fulham manager (whom I can never spell his name so he'll be forever that to me), but my money would be on the return of fat Sam unfortunately, the public apology last year and acknowledgement was clearly engineered to pave the way for his return should Rafa leave. He's the perfect manager for Ashley, absolutely perfect, gonna keep that PL TV money rolling in but in no danger of ever reaching the point where he needs to dip his hands too deep into his pockets. Just imagine the scenes if Lardiola returned.
  24. He's probably been asking Charnley/the club to clarify next season's budget since the Arsenal game, but as usual, they've been fobbing him off and not giving him any answers. He was quite clear about wanting the situation resolving asap, and clearly has just had enough of them fucking about.
