One or two of the Colombians would do nicely. It was nice having a Colombian nutter in the side.

Plus £20million for a change. See the signings we’ve had can make a good fan, bad....

It’ll most likely be a variation on an offensive to the eyes butcher’s apron.

Errggh! Just watching something about Peter Sutcliffe and they are replaying the Wearside Jack audio (what a sad excuse for a human btw) with the voiceover “with a distinct Sunderland, or Geordie, accent... Police were advised to exclude anyone who did not have a Geordie accent.” Had a visceral disgust reaction.

Not sure. Something not quite right about that. Whether it’s the trim or the proportions? Anyway, if genuine hope it’s a grower.

Things have moved on somewhat here as well.

You should give the Daily Star a ring, if you fancy a career change

When I was last there some bog-eyed bloke with translucent skin and a ketchup stained top stuck the nut on his pet pit pony. Cheeky cuddy had nibbled a bit of his pastie.

Wilshere and Sturridge, imagine... Derek best top up his collection of leeches and other state of the art medical equipment!

Loved the banter on here when Chancel signed. Feel quite sad about him going, though it is probably the sensible move for all concerned.

We’d definitely need to be signing two strikers if this comes to pass.

Part of the reasoning behind the mass implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures was to acknowledge how often suspicions or allegations were being made and not co-ordinated, largely based on findings from health and social care services. A significant part of this is how hard it can be for colleagues/friends/family to believe that someone known to them was harming children. Whilst I am not excusing Carver’s presumed lack of action, it was unfortunately a common occurrence. Therefore the era it happened in does provide context.

Keepers and England songs (Take Me Home, last tournament and Mbemba song last night). Perhaps that is what we’re good at.

Every employer in the UK, who works with or may come into to contact with children or vulnerable adults, have safeguarding procedures. Whilst the content may vary, they will all have at their core a fundamental rule that you communicate the concerns. Doing nothing isn’t an option. I don’t know whether the club would have had safeguarding procedures, and mandated staff training, at that time. They, and all other football clubs, do now.

Wasn't his overhead kick on target? Wrongly given offside. Sergej Milinković Savić That’s the way kidda shoot from anywhere at any opportunity. Got to overtake ‘the less good’ Ronaldo!

Mine has gone up by £108 since last season. That's all I'm really interested in. For a bog standard middle of the table club £520 is about right, although still more expensive than many PL clubs for a seat behind the goal. £628 is a total piss take. An extra £5.68 per game?

An owner commenting on fucken everything is not good news like. He just cant shut up. He's basically Trump Donald (of the) Dump.

Just done a predictions chart mapping the relative difficulty of each part of the season (based on opponents’ finishing position last year and whether home or away). Worked quite well last year (surprisingly). Three quarters of the season were reasonably accurate (predicted 40 points overall, got 40 points). Just the second quarter (9 games in Nov-Dec) let it down: predicted 11 points, got 4. If someone would be so kind as to advise me how to post a chart from Excel on here I shall share my clairvoyance for the collective enjoyment and/or ridicule
