  1. 569MB... fuck me it’s slow.
  2. Just figured out how to view More Than a Manager (!) after purchasing via iTunes the other day. It’s taking forever to download onto an iPad, I feel knackered, but I now just have to watch it. Like, HAVE to. Still only 330mb of 3.2GB. Beers on a school night, it’s the only solution.
  3. Hey, he won us the Championship... (ish).

    Adam Armstrong

Exciting tunes for the lad. Really pleased for him.
  5. In. Similar calibre of player as last time please
  6. Yep, fully get the gist. Stumbled upon Beardsley and Lineker as well, as the received wisdom has it. Thing is though, and this may be hard to take, I am guessing he knew what made an effective team; knew better than you or the parade of parasitic press plebs who trotted out shamefully critical shite. Like I said I think your view is harsh. That judgement remains regardless of how confident you are about it.
  7. Obviously, you’re entitled to your opinion. Harsh though, in my opinion.
  8. Eight years in the hot seat (third longest serving England manager). 95 games, with better results (w47 d30 l18) than achieved with Newcastle. It’s easy to pick out woulda-shoulda-coulda choice points, decisions he might have made etc. There are also lesser, in my opinion, shorter serving mangers wth better records, many of which include more meaningless friendly wins. But I think he got so close to winning the World Cup with two well organised England sides that my main take on his tenure is he was unlucky. There was a nice bit of footage of him from Italia 90 which perfectly captures that feeling,
  9. There are hundreds of ethnicities and languages and thousands of cultural identities across the continent of Africa. But Yaya sees them as all the same ‘outgroup’ more similar to one another than to (equally diverse) colleagues from other continents. Not sure it is Pep who needs to reflect on his attitudes.
  10. Massive own goal, from a business and every other perspective, if there was the majority of a deal set-up/ he was willing to come with an option to buy. If so, perhaps they’ll learn to trust the capital growth potential in Rafa’s (some of at least) preferred options.
  11. He’s too sexy for ManYoo...
  12. The italics bit is bollocks IMO. As a premise I mean. Forget about Joe Allen in particular. You, in principle, can improve exactly like that. Somebody who fits a system. Who brings what a manager thinks the team needs; and on occasion contributes significantly more than was expected. Historical case(s) in point. I think players like Barry Venison, Brian Kilcline, Paul Bracewell, Roy Aitken improved the team hugely. More so than many signings which may have got the collective pulses racing. The bit in bold: I agree with the point, about fan reaction, thing is though Diame played very well against Stoke (away, can’t remember home). But Allen played very well too. He was tenacious and particularly effective when they were without the ball. Regardless of how many goals he scores, if you don’t realise how important it is to close harry, generally hassle and breakup play, then I doubt you really understand what contributes to winning football matches. I’d welcome Allen, if Rafa sees a role for him. He consistently has done, and will continue to do, a job at the top level.
  13. Ramos is a cheating dirty cunt. Hope he feels deeply ashamed. Not just for (successful) deliberate attempt to hurt Salah. Enjoy your victory (not as much as you should).

Nice try. Really. But it just has to be Wearside Jack. Some poor deluded chancer doing anything he can to steal a bit of limelight.
  15. Sounds shameful and transparent to me. Hate away. That said. Don’t suppose it is much different from very top players tumbling down the footballing pyramid in this country, to extend their playing career. Only with more exposure and wedge. Funny how the former seems kind of admirable to me (oh look how much they love the game they’re smothering up with deep heat to turn out at Scunthorpe) whereas the latter seems tainted (money grabbing cunts. You not rich enough yet?). In reality, main driver for many might simply be extending their career. Still feeling as if they make the difference. Only, they get more choice where they do it. And more people want to watch. Plus, they get to live /experience somewhere new. Perhaps turn people onto the beautiful game... oh bugger. I am changing my own mind now.
  16. It’s a definite maybe. http://i1.thejournal.co.uk/incoming/article4356455.ece/BINARY/000D0041-82D1-1D57-9E8080BFB6FAFE6C.jpg

Dental care more interesting than Sunderland. Fair enough, I guess.
  18. Nowt run of the mill about Venison and Peacock in those seasons, IIRC. And always thought Watson was a wonderful asset. Held back by his versatility.
  19. Hasn’t held Klopp back. Wonder if they nip out at half-time? Or have a rider at away grounds so they can smerk tabs in the ground?
  20. 7 goals for NUFC against SAFC, 2nd highest behind Jackie Milburn. 12 goals for NUFC in Europe, 2nd highest behind Alan Shearer. 142 substitute appearances in Premier League history, 2nd highest behind Peter Crouch. 7 international goals representing England (U21) and 2 representing Nigeria. Over 400 appearances, 5 leagues. That’s what it’s all about. Ooohhhh, Shola Amoebi! Time to put your whole self out, bonny lad. Kick back for well deserved rest. Top man.
