We've massively improved on two vital positions at opposite ends of the pitch. Botman might not be a massive improvement on Burn, but overall our strength in depth is off the chart, and he allowed us to use Burn when Targett was out. I don't mourn the lack of a RW because I see Isak occupying that team place, a lot. Would have liked more strength in depth in the middle, or preferably an upgrade on Willock, but once we went from haggling between 25 & 30 million for Pedro, to slapping 60 mill on the table for Isak, that no doubt limited our options.

Only ever been once. Fell asleep on the bus back rom Camden, waking up in CP at 4.30 am. Bus driver kicked us off to sit in the rain while I waited 10 mins for him to take me back. And you ask me why I'm angry. -

Nowt against Palace. I seem to remember Andy Thorn wishing us luck in our play-off game, before playing the cup final. -

At least they didn't involve Amanda. I'm assuming that's true blue Ruben on the right. -
Aye. For one so young he says the right things but with such conviction. not like he's trying to say the right things.
-
Fitting.

I didn't think it was emotional. He was just cool as ice, until he saw the fans and thought "I'll have me a bit of that".
-
This is true, but he was in better shape than previous, when he got his injury, which might point to a quicker return to his levels of last year, at least. No harm in giving him a few sub appearances to maintain his hunger. Would be nice if he was available for the cup game.

Love his reply to the question about "the project".

Only 2 minutes in but his recounting of his emotions and thoughts align with his outward expression. Like when he says e wasn't really thinking anything, entering the pitch. You could tell. He was completely at ease. And then his thoughts after scoring; "very happy but saw the fans and wanted to celebrate with them" Again that's exactly what it looked like. I haven't got a clue what that might reflect, but I'm loving the kid. Edit: I think it contrasts with the interviewers crap questions.

It'll be a game, that's for sure. Hopefully the crowd aren't as arrogant as some on here and give the team the support they're accustomed to. -
As it would if we'd entered the 95th minute a goal down.
-
Doesn't change the fact he can still develop. How do liverpool cover for Salah? You're assuming he's playing the style he wants to perfection, he's said many a time we're not there yet. Sure I'm speculating, but I don't think he sees his preferred tactical gameplan to continually attack with only one body in the box to aim for. Of course you leave defensive responsibilities to others by giving more attacking duties throughout. You just have to balance that. If you see my layout above we have ASM, Wilson, and Isak pressing the defence, supported by Targett, Joelinton, Bruno and Trippier/Almiron. I feel I've covered those weaknesses quite well.

I think the whole point of being mysterious is to not follow a pattern. So you say the same thing if the player is going to miss out as you do when you know he's raring to go. But it's like bowling in cricket. -
His desire to attack leaves us vulnerable at times, that's the kickback with courageous players [courage is nothing but stupidity when it fails]. But in the Liverpool game he made a vital tackle at one point. He's obviously better protected when Bruno plays.

Going through the posts on various pages, it seems every one of our creative players, struggles with the final ball. I'll make a crazy prediction and say that will change when Isak plays, and improve exponentially when he plays with Wilson.

No, I absolutely agree. I just think they would have been bonus points to what was expected. But we'll get those bonuses in other games. -

Yeah. I think you could argue that injuries cost us points in those games, but I think we got the points we expected, so it's no loss. If the swings and roundabouts rule is adhered to, we'll have a fuly fit squad for some of our biggest challenges and get bonuses. -
I [kind of] get why people are interested in what these goblins say, during the window, about things that we are unable to know. But for fuck sake, you can watch the interview yourself. You don't need the "I watched it so you don't have to" brigade when it's in fucking youtube.
-
With the instruction to get into the box? I'm all for it. We'll defend when we decide to let them have the bal.

He's also not fully developed yet. Had Thierry Henry ever played as a striker before Wenger got his hands on him. I genuinely don't know he answer but I assume very little.
