  1. Hs goal return was affected by the choice of CF. Cisse is a goal poacher not the type to bring in the IFs.
  2. Then he better get his arse in the box then.
  3. I'm not certain the player knows himself. Howe will give him every opportunity to discover his most effective role. Just because he hasn't been given the opportunity to play right or left, does not mean he is incapable. He looks like a complete forward [or my understanding] to me. If Howe can develop whatever Joelinton was, into a Ball winning, box to box Terminator, then I'm drooling at the thought of what he can develop together with this lad.
  4. Of course nobody should be rushed back too soon. But nobody knows the state of the injuries, so we say "if" Bruno is back.
  5. That's not what it was about. The longer the bar stays open the more the risk of contamination grows. Then you have to do a deep clean, and sterilise the bar for the next opportunity to open the doors. Should have just been kept shut, TBH. But then 'eat out to help out' would have been impossible.
  6. TBF, how Isak will play, has been described on numerous occasions.
  7. When Wilson is injured he's a shoe-in. But it will affect how we play. Essentially we will be returning to what we currently play, but with Isak instead of Wilson.
  8. Somebody [BT or MOTD] remarked on how many goals liverpool scored in injury time. I didn't check the stats but couldn't help laughing at them being amazed by how many times they scored with the last kick of the game, and not thinking it's a bit weird.
  9. Have you watched Almiron and Trippier at all this season?
  10. If injuries hit us we'll be weakened, of course. But that's unlikely given how we're managing the threats. Wilson might miss 9 games this season from little worries, but if we ignore them he could miss 20. The one thing our early season form has shown is that we can cope with a few injuries. As the season progresses I think we'll see less and less.
  11. In the list, yes. Not in the tactical gameplan.
  12. Yeah you have to imagine the movement of course. But I picture Almiron, Bruno and Trips as a whirlwind down the right wing, doing irreperable damage to the opposition's defensive shape. With ASM Wilson and Isak ready to pounce. The left wing speaks for itself, but with Isak attacking the far post and Wilson in the 6 yard box, just you try doubling up on Maxi.
  13. Yeah. I think more of a free role in support of Wilson, while he's perfecting his craft. Finding positions in the box that Willock should currently be finding.

    Nick Pope

Definitely. Same with all of our first team signings [don't forget the youth we brought in]. They've all hit the ground running, more or less. Pope I thought would be equal to Dubs, he's much better Botman i thought would develop into a rock, and he's already there Isak looked like a high risk high return gamble, but he looks ready to destroy the league. Still early days of course, but the character that Howe keeps speaking of is clear to see.
  15. Of course they won't. That's the issue. If they start applying that to every moment of every game, Super Sunday will end on Tuesday.
  16. I mean that's got to be bullshit right? 5 minutes added in 45, then 3 in 5? Pretty sure there were injuries and we were wasting time all second half. I'll accept the 3 added in injury time if the original injury time was 20.
  17. He had is best season as the lone forward, no? This suggests he's comfortable playing in any of the forward areas, regardless of starting position. In the video I watched, and against Liverpool, he seemed equally confident attacking from both sides of the pitch. And his confidence in striking the ball [powerful with his right and crafty with his weaker left] I have no worries about him turning into Joelinton [the striker].
  18. I just don't think we provide the kind of chances he scores. Dunno as I haven't seen many of his goals [the one he scored against us, for Leeds was canny] but he does look like the most you can expect from him is to pounce on an easy chance. He fit Burnley to a tee really, and his stats show that he performed that role with efficiency. Just not technical enough, or fast enough, physically and mentally, to lead the line in a top team.
  19. That's the point I'm making. Don't judge football fans by the shite we spou about football, as it isn't reflective of who we are in real life. Our love of football is an escape from that. Don't be bringing nowt back from Narnia.

    Footy trivia

I'm thinking Kerry Dixon played for Arsenal at some point, but I might be thinking Graham Rix, played for Chelsea. Both could be wrong.
  21. It would be nice if, for once, they tried to see things from a different angle.
  22. Don't know anything about him but he sounds perfect.
