Trust Howe more than i trust ASM. In the sense that the club/team performance must always come first. If we'd be better off without him in Howe's view, so be it.
-
As a few have said i think 5-6 first team quality would be a great summer. RCB, LB, CM x2, RW and then a versatile attacking player. In this case, Schar, Burn, Willock, Longstaff, Miggy and 1 other becoming your 'squad' players isn't half bad considering they all just played a huge part in finishing top 4.

I'd imagine Tierney will be the first through the door and would be a decent start for ~£30m

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
JP replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Champions league draw 31st August 2023 Transfer window closes 1st September 2023 Buckle up lads -
Another one from last night for any xG nerds out there: Newcastle 4.11 (4) - (1) 0.59 Brighton We've done that to so many teams this season. Deserve top 4
-
Our 'poor form' last 10 games is 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats btw. Players deserve a caldron atmosphere on Thursday to drag them through. Press them high first 10 and i fancy an early goal to massively settle us.
-
Apologies if already been mentioned, but is there a clip anywhere of that deflected cross that bounced right in front of Forster which resulted in him and his two cb's plus Longstaff just watching the ball? My mate in the gallowgate screamed WHAT IS GOING ON HERE THEN! It was like a kids game defensively
-
Likewise. Casemiro out for them a big miss and we're so good at home. Sunday 4.30pm kick off plenty time for the atmos to build throughout the city during the day. Looking forward to it and optimistic - 2-0 win
-
More legs around Bruno in midfield to unlock his talents the better. McTominay has the fitness levels this team under Howe demands. Also, the player would be coming into an environment where everyone is on the same page - not the toxic one he's leaving that Ten Hag has patchworked together slightly this season where Maguire/Fred/McTominay himself are scapegoats.
-
All the media noise seems just that at the moment, noise. Of course we won't know our targets until we know what comps we're in next season. Champions league elevates to the level of target significantly. Europa league means we need the squad padding out significantly with more quality.
-
Apologies as it will have been spoken about on a previous page but what's the plan for those of us going down to London? Trafalgar Square meet?
-
Needs a better song, mind. Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Anthony Gordon is the best on earth A silky scouser, just what we need Newcastle's gonna win the premier league x14 To the tune of Heaven is a place on earth
-
We'll get him then. Unhappy player, we want him, close on valuation. It'll happen before deadline day
-
Christ. We're an injury away from Jacob Murphy starting RW every week. Gordon absolutely improves our first 11, and then our squad depth as a knock on. An aside to that is 15 months ago we had Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce at the club. FFS give Ashworth, Howe etc the respect and trust they have more than earned.
-
This. I've never understood the 'we need to buy cover' as in lower quality players than our first 11 now. Buy first 11 quality and let the squad competition become the cover. Longstaff/Willock would be decent squad players compared to the lack of cover we have now anyway.
-
That would be a dream signing. Yes, the price tag will be big but he will probably fit into our wage structure. Can't imagine he's on bucket loads having signed for Napoli in the summer for only a £10m fee. Hard to adjust our mindsets but if we carry on our form this season, this is certainly a realistic signing in the summer.
-
Whichever way we look at January, I really hope our fanbase show patience and trust to the owners/Ashworth/Howe that if we do miss out on certain targets it's not the end of the world and they'll wait until the right players become available. We don't want to do an Everton/Man United/Chelsea with recruitment.

Pope Trippier Schar Botman Targett Willock Bruno Joelinton Almiron Wilson ASM Isak bench

Fantastic news
-
Pope, Botman, Bruno, Isak as the spine. 3 of the brightest talents in European football in there. They could be here for 5-10 years as the mainstays.
-
I'm all twinged out from Isak, give us a few days rest at the least please Maddison.
-
Remember the bed wetting panic throughout August about our window not been good enough Trust our owners! Mehrdad doesn't get the company card until the last week of the window anyway.
-
We had personal terms agreed with Isak two weeks ago - Wilson injury not related.
