  1. Literally everything that is deemed vaguely positive for us is now met with ‘Saudi corruption marra’. The ultimate coping mechanism.
  2. Had us to beat Man City in the League Cup. Knows his stuff…
  3. It’s seems a bit paradoxical that we’re saying that same website was unquestionably 100% accurate with his wages at Villa, but 100% inaccurate with his wages here….
  4. It’s generally a lot easier to get a player from another league on lower wages, as they will only be something low to start with. So what would Joe have been on at Hoffenheim? 10/15k maybe? Offer to treble his wages and you’ve got him for 40/50k. Even a youngster in the PL like Gordon, probably wasn’t on too much at Everton, so you can double/treble his money without going particularly high. Once you’re going for established PL players like Targett, who’ve already had a move between PL clubs, and if they’re asking for double what they’re on, it becomes a lot more expensive.
  5. I can see it. Although it’s probably a pointless debate to get too far into, as there’s no way of actually knowing.
  6. It’s really not that difficult to believe given he’s had two eight-figure transfers between PL clubs (who generally pay the highest wages).
  7. With the exception of Wilson, which I agree looks low given he signed a new deal whilst here, presumably on improved terms, which of those in particular seem inaccurate to you?
  8. Wouldn’t say anything like the majority think that. People understandably more to see Tino getting more minutes somehow. But I suspect very few think he’s currently a better RB than Trippier.
  9. This is what Capology reckon. Apparently the green tick means it’s been ‘verified’ (no idea how): *I’m not claiming this is 100% accurate btw. Certainly appears to have Wilson far too low.
  10. John Barnes ahead of Waddle?

    St James' Park

It isn’t really the PL’s decision. All depends on whether the local SAG decide whether any structural changes that get made subsequently make it ‘safe’ for away fans to located lower down.

Yeah, I don’t think they would increase ST numbers, even at 65k. Ballot success rates should be a fair bit higher though…
  13. Yes, but it’s been like that all season. OK, it’s probably got a bit more obvious recently, well ever since the fiasco against us, and basically just sacking the season off from that point onwards. Clearly midweek is understandable to a degree, but why would there be so many missing on a Saturday in October?

His whinging made even more stupid by the fact that the BBC’s main football presenter, and highest paid employee, is a 63 year old white male.
  15. Tbf, all major clubs count ‘attendance’ like that nowadays. We most probably do. The difference is most major clubs don’t give thousands and thousands of tickets away that don’t end up getting used. The most obvious example was when Man Utd v Bournemouth got called off on the last day of 16/17. When they did play a few days later, the attendance was still announced as 74k despite the stadium being half empty.
  16. It’s a bit tenuous to say he’s ‘linked’. Seems basically the Chronicle have managed to cobble together an article on Aaron Stokes (Chronicle journo) saying on a podcast that he thinks he would be a big upgrade on Almiron.
  17. Dummett and Hendrick are done but Hayden has two more seasons.
  18. What a likeable guy:

    Alexander Isak

I think it was probably because it wasn’t actually 15 games in a row. He missed 4 that season through injury, so scored in every home league game he played in that season.

Shearer scoring in 15 consecutive home games is absolutely mental 😂
  21. Think it probably helps us that they’re down if they don’t win this. Obviously they’ll still sit deep initially, but if it gets later in the game and it’s level, they can’t hold on for the draw and will have to push on to try and win. Be better if we just howked them 5-0 like.
  22. OK, I suppose given your recent history of qualifying for the CL, I can perhaps see that the prize on your side isn’t big enough to warrant having to stomach the prize on their side. How you go about enduring a game where you actively have to want your side, who you like as individuals and it’s not a wanting the manager out situation, to lose, I’m not sure. I think I just wouldn’t attend/watch.
