  1. Match ticket will be refundable obviously. The club might (and I have absolutely nothing to back this up with) offer some kind of compensation towards travel. Would have no chance of that under Ashley, but Mandy and co may see it as good PR (as well as being the right thing to do).
  2. I think the difference is (and I wasn’t there so don’t know this 100%) that the trains that get you from Brighton to Falmer (where the ground is) were still running so although it was a nightmare trying to get from Newcastle to London, then on to Brighton, home fans weren’t overly effected. This time sounds like those trains are off which would make getting to the middle of nowhere that is the Amex, an absolute nightmare for everyone and probably lead to total chaos.
  3. I think they were just worried they’d start to organise something and subsequently a strike would be called and mess everything up.
  4. They’re not doing one this season as with all the issues with potential rail strikes they decided it wasn’t worth it. If you follow @dazcurry on Twitter, he’s the guy that organises them, distributes tickets etc, so if they decide to put one on for any other London games, he will have the info.
  5. Be hoping he starts and gets subbed as it it’ll be void if he doesn’t start.
  6. Brentford tickets on sale this morning
  7. Chelsea obviously very concerned about being “monitored closely” with the quarter of a billion they spent this window
  8. Even more so given he tore Neville a new arsehole for doing exactly the same with OGS
  9. Interesting to see his reaction after Isak’s goal on Wednesday. Everybody comes over to congratulate him and Trippier gets there, arms outstretched, as if to say, ‘see, I told you’. Whether he’d been telling him to make that kind of movement or whatever, who knows, but that seemed to be his demeanour. Can see it here: https://twitter.com/nufc/status/1565284040651022337?s=21&t=bu7VWQa4hexYpySdOE_skA
  10. Not if we activate it at 10:55pm on deadline day….?
  11. He’ll no doubt get a going over from that Andersen twat against Palace on Saturday. Hopefully he handles it better than Nunez
  12. Post game interview is very good too. He’s the stone cold killer we’ve been waiting for.

    Nick Pope

It’s strange, because his long kicking of a stationary ball is actually pretty good. Probably shouldn’t dwell on his negatives though as he’s already proved a substantial upgrade.

    Nick Pope

His long kicking (when not under pressure) is more than fine. His touch, and associated ‘playing out’, not so much.

Can’t kick for shit. Doesn’t matter cos he just catches everything and gives it to people who can.
  16. Does he fit the intensity that our midfield play at now? Not saying he doesn’t, haven’t watched him closely enough, or looked at the stats to make a judgment either way. He’s obviously absolute quality, but as Man Utd have shown, signing players “cos they’re good”, doesn’t cut it nowadays. You need them to fit into your way of playing. Mind you, Eddie got Shelvey hounding the opposition superbly, so even if it’s not his current strength, it soon would be.
  17. As I’m on holiday at the minute I had to sit and watch the Wolves match in the hotel bar next to a Wolves fan (yes, it’s a hard life…). Soon as they brought Hwang on he was full of “not this useless prick”. Sure enough he teed Maxi up and said Wolves fan deemed him the “worst player ever to play for Wolves”.
  18. When was the last time (if ever) Man Utd signed one of our reserves?
  19. Tranmere really weren’t that bad man. The only really ‘bad’ tackle was the one on Darlow. The lad swinging his arm on Lascelles was a bit reckless, but even Lascelles said himself it was probably an accident. There was nothing in the Kraft one really, he was just (incredibly) unlucky. Wolves committed more fouls against us than Tranmere did.
  20. Yeah. There’s a lot to be said for players that clearly have massive personality, like Bruno. But give me a centre-forward who’s a cold-hearted emotionless killer.
  21. Fair point. Could have played them both at Brentford and still got beat.
  22. It only becomes a ‘bad/terrible/shite’ deal if and when Pope gets injured. Up until that point, it’s money for nothing. Hardly anyone has a quality second keeper these days. The days are Given and Harper are becoming less and less.
