Aston Villa 2 - 0 Newcastle United - 21/08/21 - post-match from page 13
Keggy_Keagal replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
We stumbled across this formation last season but it can't work without decent full backs and the midfield essentially waving people through . -
It's the usual bollocks . West Ham chased the game and they didn't get caught after going 2-1 down . Hate this bloke .
-
When Wilson , Maxi and Miggy are fit we've a chance in most games. There does seem to be some of the problems of last season in that teams frequently have runners that the centre midfield loses (usually Shelvey not tracking). The right hand side of defence and right back area is once again wide open at times, lost count of the problems that caused us last year.

He hopes to have a great championship. That's his level to be fair.

The broadcasters don't care and neither do a significant amount of supporters. Liverpool fans en masse for example don't stand for this sort of nonsense. Also very few ex Newcastle players working as pundits that don't toe the party line. When there's an issue with Manchester United Gary Neville or Roy Keane are given as long as they want. When there's a news story here BT ask Rio Ferdinand's opinion . -
This link is a perfect example of Owen. He talks like a robot and is devoid of any charisma or even basic warmth. It's like Bill Gates built a footballer (which may also explain the injuries).

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs

The rivalry between Liverpool and Everton is as strong as it ever was even with Everton's lack of recent success . I'd also say the derby has changed somewhat. At one stage it was "the friendly derby" with supporters of both clubs often stood side on the terraces. It's certainly got more bitter. There's more venom and some fans of both clubs actively dread it. My stepfather is a blue season ticket holder and in normal times he swerves that game or even going to the pubs when it's on. Too many young gobshites who go absolutely tonto. As for Rafa I can't envision him going there. He's a very savvy bloke, who's very aware of how he's perceived and there's too much risk of his standing with Liverpool supporters being tarnished. -
Players need to play. He looked ok on loan from here to Shrewsbury Town and Wigan but nothing outstanding. The move to Peterborough came at the right time for his development.

This has ended up a bit of a rant but so be it . Usual Bruce drivel. He always says "you have to accept it" when talking about criticism but he never does. Not one fellow supporter has expressed to me during Bruce's tenure that they hope for a world record transfer let alone expect one. Pardew was an outright liar but we've never had such a whiny manager. Constantly bleating about injuries, pressure, expectations, comments from George from Dunston on twitter which he doesn't apparently read. It's never-ending. For a bloke involved in top level sport as a player and a manager for over thirty year he is completely incapable of dealing with the vast majority of the demands of it. Mourinho is called a complainer and dark and moody but he's got nothing on this fella. When he gets a result or two he's always on the attack. There's a lot of complexities to managing a football club. I get it. Dealing with the supporters especially up here isn't one of them. The managers that have got it (Keegan, Robson, Hughton, Benitez) never really take issue with the fans. They embrace them, even the sometimes negative aspects. They all say how important we are, how we know are football (incidentally Liverpool fans for example are always credited with being intelligent by the media and football in general whereas we're talked down to and about) and how we have the right to say how we feel. Bruce treats us like an inconvenience, like he's being asked to deal with a wasp's nest in the loft and take the bins out on the same day. Why doesn't any journalist ever say you don't seem like you enjoy the job Steve ? He applied to be manager, if he doesn't like it he could resign. Part of "getting" what this club is about is understanding it's a privilege to manage Newcastle United and should be treated as such.

That 4-3-3 was incredible. Dalglish tricked me with that, I'll never forgive him for it. I thought it was going to be the way forward for the team, 8 months later Sir Les was gone as was Tino and players who could also have worked in that 4-3-3 in Ginola and Beardsley were too .
-
I'm taking this to mean he likes Shack's magnificent Lp Waterpistol and that is a sign of inherent decency, goodness and hope .
-
Has to be Tino's for the equaliser against the Boro. Vickers is circling the earth that turn spun him so much .

I don't know if I'll explain this very well but here goes . The so called big 6 have still used this absolute to farce to establish themselves as "the big 6". Beforehand you ask people who the biggest clubs in this country are you wouldn't necessarily have got uniform answers regardless of the individual asked. We're still a massive club and would have been classed as part of a big 6 in the last 20 years, as would Leeds, Everton and Villa in the not too distant past. If perception is reality (don't know who came up with that originally ...might have been Vince McMahon) this is how these clubs will be perceived both historically and going forwards and perhaps in future TV/League deals.

I've no issue with the claim that Barcelona , Real Madrid, Manchester United or Liverpool generate more interest in whatever competition they play in. I do with Spurs, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea. The key word is competition. A super league is essentially the clubs pulling the ladder up. In one way it's funny , Masters and the Premier League allowed the concerns of Spurs and Liverpool and of course the UAE ran Manchester City to influence their handling of Newcastle United's proposed takeover. All three now are in breach of the Premier League's own rules.

Also his desperation to appear as some sort of likeable everyman is really really weird and just makes him even more unlikeable.
-
Why doesn't anybody ever say to him "but you're not on social media Steve" ? Alex must be telling him every time "they're calling you shite again dad, and again, and again, " . If someone was slagging my old man to me every 5 mins I'd just not tell him.

Don't blame anyone for wanting to leave at the moment . Weren't here were noises just after the start of the season from his agent that if it wasn't for Covid he would have been looking to leave last summer?

This being a Newcastle United forum huge news will break whilst the forum's down.
-
Ashley probably looks at that and thinks we only need 2 draws to survive. How are we two points from safety ?

The thought the match is on later used to fill me with joy now it's just a sort of mild dread. Though I have to watch it. -
Aleister Crowley considered the number 9 the most evil of the numbers . Who does Mike Ashley spend the most money on and is subsequently awarded the number 9 ? Clearly we're through the looking glass here people.
