When the club stops feeling the affects of his tenure. Technically we have really. It's Ashley's tenure that we're feeling the wrath of. Think i disagree with that. Pardew being there for as long as he was strengthened Ashley's grip on the club a lot. That was Ashley's doing not Pardew's though. Ashley calls the shots not Pardew with relation to whether he was in the managers seat. Aye Ashley was in charge but Pardew made things a lot more comfortable for him by being the ultimate yes man, in Ashley's eyes he was perfect for the job. Having a puppet who will spout shite to the media and tell barefaced lies to the fans is unvaluable to a boss like Ashley. Pardew's job was to keep fans' expectations down, rave about our better players to the media so we could sell them for more money and say nice things about Mike to try and keep the heat off.. In fairness to him he did that pretty well and ever since he left Mike has struggled to keep things ticking over. Some of his moves since have stunk of desperation - The interview on Sky before the West Ham game, appointing McLaren and Moncur onto "the board", spending big money in the January window on Townsend and Shelvey, then finally being forced to appoint a respectable manager in Rafa, something he never wanted to do as good managers ask questions, demand transfer budgets and generally make life uncomfortable for a dictator like the fat man. Something he never experienced in the 4-5 years the Pardew was here. If Ashley eventually does go in the next few months then i'll always see Pardew leaving as a significant step towards it.

Bobby Madley proving once again he's an incompetant lump of spunk in the West Ham game by the sounds of things. Robbing a living.

Surely off to Madrid in the summer?

Atrocious defending that mind.

This is how i always feel before the game. Then one of our players does something completely shit after about 20 seconds and i'm back to stressing out for the full match. -
Interesting stats them. I'm quite intrigued to see how he does now.

Someone from our end hoyed a banger or some sort of firework into the City fans and they started going mental. The game was pretty forgettable i thought. -
So contact (foul) was originally made outside of the area then? It's not based on where the first contact was made, if it continues into the box it's a pen I need to see it again BUT I'm confident we wouldn't get that Aye guaranteed! The ref would either give a free kick on the edge of the box or bottle it completely and decide it wasn't even a foul.

Loving the Rimmeresque insult ?

He'd be a very good appointment for them IMO.

Think that policy got knocked on the head about a year ago.

I thought that at the time. Frustratingly, it was the kind of play we used to see from Perez but he doesn't seem to be able to run at defenders these days.
-
Was really good. On the negative side he was totally skinned by Arnautovic for their first. Regardless, looks much better with Lascelles. He was, but i don't think that's too much of a disgrace. He was left 1 on 1 with Arnautovic who is a powerful runner and can go either side so it was hard for him. I think he tried to slow him down until we got some numbers back bit there was too much space for Arnautovic to run into. Only a top class defender would've stopped him IMO.

Quality piece of play to start the move for Diame's goal ?
-
I think he's done that before. I've always thought his eyelids look constantly sunburned.

Shearer said on MOTD last night that Rafa had a deal lined up for him in the summer only for him to be f***ed about. Yeah i noticed that. He wasn't really one we were strongly linked with so maybe Shearer had some inside info. I thought it was generally accepted that his wage demands would've made him our highest earner by a mile so it was a no-go.

These fuckers seem like the real deal, i can see why parts of the media are talking about them as the best Premier League side ever, even if it is stupidly premature. I know it sounds small time but i think i'd take a narrowish defeat while not picking up any injuries and suspensions. Brighton is the important one really. -
The only time i remember seeing him play was away at Watford when we'd just signed him. I thought he did ok but i remember a few people coming out of the ground saying he was shite. It's weird how he hasn't really had a chance though.
