Sad state of affairs when comments like these are made He's been impressive for a number of months now since replacing Yedlin. He has earned the starting position and should rightfully be there next week; I for one am pleased he's turned it around here after getting off to a poor start.

Nothing can or will absolve Mike Ashley and the club's hierarchy from what has been a shambles of a summer, however I am allowing myself to be pleased and even excited about this lad coming in. It's not his fault that the club is ran so poorly, or that we allowed a brilliant manager to walk replacing him with mediocrity - therefore I am looking forward (from the comfort of my home) to seeing what he brings to the team. Couldn't care less about the transfer fee - I don't think it's overpaying at all, it's simply what Premier League clubs spend these days. The norm. We should be doing that. Will take some time to settle imo, much like Rondon, but I think he can do very well here.

You should have something against Bruce, the bloke is clearly a fucking arsehole after how he's treated Shef Wed, and it's not the first time he's done it. Bloke has no integrity whatsoever. Don't let his place of birth fool you into thinking he's a "decent bloke". When did I say he was a decent bloke because he’s from the area? My point is that the Steve Bruce component of this mess is irrelevant. The club is a joke, and will continue to be so long after Steve Bruce until there’s a drastic change. Bruce is just another name.

Note the lack of any positive messaging in the announcement. No “we are excited” or “we are pleased”. Just “Steve Bruce has been appointed head coach”. Fuck this club man. (nothing against Steve Bruce tbh, but my passion & energy for the club is clearly not matched by the club therefore I’ve other things I’d much rather focus my energy on).

I don't think it will be Bruce. Odds getting 'slashed' doesn't necessarily signify anything of substance. If interest was there, I feel Ashley would expect Bruce to resign in order to take the job rather than pay Sheff Wed their compensation. Bruce seems to have a good relationship with the club and their fans so I hope for their sake and ours that this rumour doesn't amount to anything, and I don't suspect it will.

BZG (supposedly) released another vague statement confusing people more than they were already. Well, Peter Redding (who?) from some Middle East radio station released it saying it's from BZG, and that they think it's a better way to release a statement than officially (thinks no legitimate company ever). It did contain this great line though "The current owners have cooperated amicably throughout this process and if a deal is not forthcoming it will not be due to lack of effort from both parties" :lol: They're now playing Ashley's tune.
