Great today, put in some perfectly-timed, mammoth challenges. More of the same from him, such a hugely important signing for us.

Decent point on the road, Palace can be a good side and we defended well, especially Fernandez who looks the part. The commentator on the feed I was watching was a mug like, broken record babbling on about how Rafa has 'shackled' his players and that he feels sorry for them. Load of rubbish. Good to see Jonjo back on the pitch, hopefully we build from here.

Kenedy put in the single worst performance by a player in living memory against Cardiff and has done nowt else all season... ...but I literally just said he was instrumental in the goal v City, it would not be scored without him being on the pitch to control the ball and link up with Rondon to provide the assist for Yedlin. That's something, right?

Kenedy isn't rubbish like, he's seriously talented, and even though he's not reached peak-levels this season thus far, he was still very good against City away and was instrumental in the goal we scored. Also don't think Murphy is that bad, it just looks like he's got confidence issues looking from the outside... I just rate Kenedy as technically & physically the far superior player.

Considering Kenedy is twice the player, I really hope he is starting like. We need his confidence to play & attack.

In which case I'd agree. Although it's a good job we got Fernandez with Lejeune being injured, otherwise we would be significantly weaker there until his return. We certainly didn't do enough in the transfer window, not even close; but I personally don't think it was horrendous (not saying you do, like). I think we're stronger, just about.

Yes but it's not like we have sold Lejeune, we have added Fernandez to an already strong area meaning we are certainly stronger there. Fernandez is an upgrade on Mbemba in this league for sure. Also think it's unfair to say Kenedy has regressed, we're only 5 games in.

Worse than last season? When similarly some people couldn’t see a worse squad in the big bad PL. Others have strengthened. We’ve stood still. No, we don’t have the squad we would all want, but we strengthened/added needed options. Don’t see us as relatively weaker. As ever, depends how well managers can get a tune out of their ‘instruments’ and conduct/create a symphony. Some who have spent much more than us will have all the gear and no idea, personally I think we will be ok, if mid-table mediocrity classed as ok. Some sense and reason, at last

Good first half, Arsenal dominated the second. We've now been beaten just 2-1 by 4 of the league's best sides in our opening matches. Hardly the end of the world. Good effort from the players I thought.

My comment was that it's an overreaction to go from thinking we were the better team in the first half (and were), to we're going down after 2 goals have been conceded and the selection was wrong. That absolutely is an overreaction, and those people would benefit from getting hold of themselves. Which is all my point was, but equally I appreciate that you don't see it that way and view the reaction as justified. I don’t think we were the better team in the first half. It was pretty even but they had created a few good openings which they fucked up while we’d created nothing really I thought we looked the better team in the first half. Even if just due to the fact Arsenal were poor, we were the team on the front foot getting the ball into the box and winning dangerous set pieces.

Overraction give over man will you when you don't put out your strongest team against one of the better teams you deserve exactly what you get and he still isn't making any changes Nonsense, this was likely the strongest team we had available (fit) to start the game today, and we were very good in the first half which was reflected in the comments in here. Now everyone is back-peddling because Arsenal have came out and shown their superior quality. Short-sighted af.

Overreaction central in here like. We were the better team in the first half, now we concede two and we're going down and the line-up was wrong/negative. Honestly man, some people need to get hold of themselves, we'll be okay. We've had the hardest start to a season I can remember and honestly haven't played that bad.

Thought Fede Fernandez & Matt Ritchie have been excellent that half. Perez, Dummett, & Joselu really contributing too. We've looked good and have some great options on the bench. Howay Newcastle!
