  1. Wouldn't go as far as 'tragic' like. It's an ok team, we just really need Shelvey in there over Hayden who lacks quality despite being a hard worker. To me it looks like a team full of dogged, hard working players - which is to no real surprise.
  2. Not going to the game but will be there for this tomorrow Anyone know which pubs in town will show the game despite it not being on UK channels? The Old George or the Percy, perhaps?
  3. I read some Sunderland fans blaming this current money-strapped predicament on these two 'mercenary' players yesterday (Djilobodji & Ndong) Blood sucking leeches apparently. Of course it's nothing to do with the club officials who agreed the transfers & contracts for them both, which the Sunderland fans were subsequently very happy about. Nah, players' fault for signing the contracts.
  4. Love Mitrovic, and he's obviously a very good striker who will likely move on from Fulham for a hefty fee in a few years. However, we have (ish) Solomon Rondon now, and he's gonna light this season up for us, I can feel it.
  5. That centre midfield would get completely dismantled ^ None of them are defenders.
  6. you do know we're talking about José Mourinho right? the man utd manager Indeed, we somehow ended up with Rafael Benitez, the Real Madrid manager - so I wouldn't be ruling anything out. Especially as his (Jose's) stock falls somewhat. You're out of your mind. I wouldn't rule out an Allardyce / Sherwood combo. Either Manager / Assistant or Hippo Head as DoF. Tbh I'd have been out of my mind to believe we could have Benitez in charge a few years ago. As I said, Mourinho's stock is falling, maybe he goes elsewhere after Man Utd, likely abroad, and then perhaps he winds up somewhere like here towards the very latter stages of his career. It's not beyond the realm of possibility is all I'm saying.

  8. Couple of years too soon I reckon, but I've felt for years now that Mourinho will end up in charge here at some point.
  9. I don't think he's much better yet like, but I feel he is developing at a quicker rate than Perez.
  10. He reminds me of Perez. Has to improve his releasing of the ball/decision making and he could be a good player, aye.
  11. Ngl when I see that top I do actually think of the Soham murders before Beckham or Van Nistelrooy for instance. I was the same age as the two girls & the pictures of them in a similar top was sort of burned into my memory. That said I reckon the fact we used to get regularly concede 3/4/5 goals against Utd back then meant I didn't hold on too firmly to the memory of it.
  12. The slowest pairing in the history of football. Probably like Sit them deep & keep the running to a minimum.
  13. England need Jonjo He can cause more damage in this kind of set up than the current bunch. I'd have him beside Dier. Shelvey is pretty much better than Henderson in every area, even tackling & tracking I would say (based on the past year or so).
  14. Christ I haven't missed the sound of those dreadful trumpets. Can't think of a less inspiring sound tbh
  15. They should weld a statue of it onto Bobby's or Shearer's shoulder outside the ground. Nice touch imo. @LeeMarshall9
  16. Yup, Silva all day. Boycotting that poll though, severe lack of hoss.
  17. What's it's name? James Perched
  18. As if a steward would do anything if you approached them to report an issue (not that they should mind, don't think their job is report maintenance issues with the ground when there's 50,000 people to look after)
  19. Didn't realise he was back in the Wales squad. (obviously didn't read the above post)
