  1. We started off quite well and were largely the better team throughout. Not much to get the pulses racing though. Good to see Fernandez play with the first team at the end.
  2. Neh I don't think Shelvey is awful at shooting like. Besides he's rarely in the position to shoot for us anyway given his deep role so it's hardly fair to judge. He definitely is awful at shooting Nah not for me like. Class goals for Swansea & a great goal against QPR last season. Someone awful at shooting does not score those goals.

  4. I'd bank on Shelvey & Kenedy from the spot like. Sure Shelvey took an awful one against Hull in the cup. I'd bank on Shelvey & Kenedy from the spot like. I'm sure Shelvey that had a shocker of a pen vs Hull last season. You're probably right, I can't quite remember the pens from that game. I was just thinking him & Kenedy have the technique.
  5. The only ‘stick’ Joselu has had, is people rightly commenting on his terrible performances. Such a weird statement. Wrong. The criticism of performances is absolutely fair enough, he's not a very good player. The problem is with the abuse that's been levelled directly at him by fans when he's f***ed up, despite us as a group of supporters insisting that the only thing we ask for is a 'club/team that tries' - when as far as I can tell his effort's not in question - and Ashley being the entire reason we have a player of his known quality at all in the first place. ...and aye, it's proper weird to want one of our players to redeem themselves. Players like Sibierski, Perch, Shola, Jonas, Gouffran etc turning it around or partly turning it around never happened, they're all still universally hated. My thoughts exactly
  6. Those bairns are having Kenedy's life there for overhitting that cross. I wonder how he will recover.
  7. Total football time now with Perez, Kenedy & Fernandez taking to the field.
  8. Rafa looking right at home in his smart/casual blazer jacket. You don't get those kinds of observations on nufc tv. On another note, Gayle is running through the sprinklers like a 3 year old in the back garden. Fair play.
  9. Trouble brewing between Haidara and one of their lads, Lascelles stepping in.
  10. Just noticed Antwerp have Jonathan Pitroipa - formlerly a key player for Hamburg & Rennes. Pretty sure we were linked with him countless times during his younger years. Shite now ofc.
  11. Perhaps Jose has a point with his 'heritage' rant
  12. Barcelona, Bayern, Juve & Liverpool into the semis imo.
  13. He's been pretty good in a back 3 to be fair to him. Got it, he's more of a fullback, traditionally but plays in the back 3. Aye played well last match. --- More broadly you could probably put a rolling paper between Tarkowski, Mawson and Lascelles this season and all will probably struggle more not playing in a defence focused side. Agreed. Out of curiosity, do you consider Maguire to be better or worse than that group then?
  14. Looking at the likes of Livermore & Cook, you can't blame someone for wondering why the far more talented Shelvey isn't in there, but it's all a bit meh really isn't it. Southgate probably has a defensive approach in mind and doesn't see Shelvey as someone who fits that as well as Cook for instance (although I disagree). It's good to see Tarkowski in though, could have just as easily have been our captain but either way it's good to see a lesser known lad who hasn't been involved in past England setups included
  15. Can't say I'm too fussed about it personally, I haven't genuinely supported England since I was a kid. They're just boring. Don't suppose Jamaal is overly worried about it either, he seems to the type of character that would be fired up by being left out.
  16. Tough to agree with what looks like wild, aimless swinging of batons towards no specific target. Just looking at the video anyway.
  17. I reckon if we brought in anyone who is worse than Dummett defensively, we would miss him straight away and he would be back in the 11 pretty quickly. Can't help but feel we'd have to spend an amount we won't be in the game to spend to get a full back who can attack but is also as good as Dummett going on the other way. The way he has played this season I'm not sure we need a replacement, a backup certainly, but I think we should be looking to put funds in other places than left back.
  18. Thank god we've had Rafa for a few years now otherwise we would likely have had a seat on the not-so-merry-go-round.
  19. Updating Chrome solved any issues I was having with lag on the forum particularly when writing posts. If anyone is running a version earlier than 65.0.3325.146 and is experiencing issues, updating it should sort it all out
