If Mitrovic had scored that goal I'd never question his finishing again. I realise it was probably a one off, but f*** me any striker would love to have scored that. Demba Ba scored a couple similar to it. He was really good at making something of long balls forward, he got a great one against Norwich iirc. For a winger to come inside and do it is quite rare probably, testament to his physical attributes as much as his skill. When you say that about Ba, immediately thought of his goal v Man U, the way he adjusted to put it away. I realise this has nothing to do with kenedy or his goal just a good memory It was great Ridiculous mix of anticipation, confidence and technical ability. The way he seems to just ease players off the ball and carry it away is bafflingly good compared to where he was at before. Comparing his current form to the likes of Kante when he first arrived isn't even a million miles off which is crazy really.

It's probably going to be one of those seasons where by the last weekend many teams could still either be relegated or finish like 12th/13th. Sure that happened to us under Pardew one year where we flirted with relegation all season and ended up finishing 13th or something.

Yeah, if not for Gayle's pace & desire we probably wouldn't have scored that second goal. Certainly not in that fashion. Perez carried it really really well, and Kenedy finished well, but Gayle done the hard work in getting there and having the composure to square it. Very good.

Most of those players named aren't on Zaha's level like. They're all decent enough but not many have proved to be as dangerous over a long enough period of time as Zaha has. Overrated, by some maybe, but he's a quality player. Would be our best player if he played for us.

Apparently he was missing/quiet for the most part but popped up with two goals when called upon as all good strikers should. (I thought his first finish was a great bit of ability to catch it so sweetly in a congested area, second was a controlled, guided header).

Granted Pickford is fairly young and looks a real prospect, from what I've seen of the two Dubravka looks more assured and complete as a goalkeeper (albeit it's still early days) where as Pickford has much learning still to do. If we can really sign him for 4 million or so, it's an unbelievable deal.

His distribution has also been very good barring his little blunder yesterday which we can forgive

Ritchie's goal was just like Cabaye against Stoke in the 11/12 season. Where Ba played Shelvey's role, trying to find space for a shot at that exact spot on the pitch before eventually laying it off for a first time finish.
