He swept well, made some standard saves without dropping a clanger then pulled off a worldie save to keep the 3 points. But we need to look at upgrading him because that footwork is a hindrance. Will not be an easy task.

His control is cumbersome. His first touch isn't instinctive, he has to measure it and even then he often fails to maneuver the ball into the optimum position. So he's already on the back foot when a defender closes him down. Then has has to really think about the pass he's got to make and that adds even more time on. He knows all of this, so his game is ultra cautious. When he has no choice but play more expansively, when he is time limited by a strong opposition press, you can guarantee he'll duff the pass. He slows down our possession and restricts our possession passing with very safe, ineffective choices. Tonali pls.

I am being harsh and everyone is spot on that he is feeding on scraps. I do think his general play outside the box can sometimes lack a level of decisiveness or dominance. I think that might just be down to us not being able to dominate teams and him having little to go on. I imagine he'd look ultra imposing in a dominant team where his deficiencies would be hidden.

I am not worried in the slightest about Adama Traore.

His second half performance was very similar to his first half performance.
