  1. I thought that was Mort dancing in? Which is a funny mental picture on its own.
  2. I swear one of the commentators keeps calling Willock "Chris Willock"
  3. This is a deep cut, but watching a ball boy drop a ball during the Southampton/Villa match made me think of the time a Newcastle-Online member talked about how ball boys should be professionalized. I think it was @Wullie unless I'm mistaken?

I won't lie, I laughed and snorted my coffee out my nose reading this . As for Lascelles, he's limited and Rafa's system seemed to protect him against those limitations being exposed. He came off initially as a good club captain but has dropped off as time has gone on.
  5. Interesting to read the Athletic piece with Staveley and Ghodoussi where they talked about not wanting to be held to ransom on players. No mention of the Wood deal though. I get the deal, and still agree with it, but that has to be an example of a cost that changed how clubs viewed our transfer spending.
  6. Unlucky not to score on the header he had in the first half and the pass for Willock's goal was lovely (nevermind, I need to get my glasses replaced)
  7. Kaveh thinking Roman is playing 5D chess when in reality it's just ass-covering time. "Not involved in politics" just a close supporter of Big Vlad.
  8. Watched Robert turn up for Toronto FC and dude was clearly mailing it in. Jogged a bit but would just shoot nearly every pass he got. Then again, John Carver was the head coach so that could explain it.
  9. He's currently suing a journalist after being described as "Putin's ATM" in a book, I think.

That's an incredible sequence of rationalization.
  11. Messi desperate to be the hero in this PSG match.
  12. Wild the difference two wins on the hop makes. Suddenly the season looks far brighter.
  13. Him winding up Allan but also not getting drawn in too much to the shoving was peak Simeone shithousery
  14. I loved the "I don't want to say too much about before..." moment. Impression given (which isn't unbelievable) is that Howe is way more connected to his players and communicating more than the human kebab was.
  15. Dude always cared but was 1) thrust in to a bad spot with McClaren and 2) wasn't mature enough at the time. Really think the red card in the Tottenham match killed his career with Rafa
  16. Anyone have a copy of the programme they'd be willing to send me a photo of? My grandfather's write-up was in it today and I've ordered one, but hoping I could send along the photo to my grandma in the mean time.
  17. My dad's a surgeon and leads the interview process for residents for his hospital. The surgeon's association decided that students applying had to undergo personality trait tests as part of their submissions. As one of the lead interviewers, my dad and colleagues had to undergo them so it would be fair. Majority of these surgeons came back as having sociopathic tendencies who were able to disassociate themselves from what was going on. Worrying signs

Comes across as a lovely guy and also gives off major Andre the Giant from Princess Bride vibes.
  19. I passed through once on the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a wedding. Went to a nice coffee shop and got drunk at the university pub. Lovely way to spend the day.
  20. Hamilton's actually a lovely place, besides the large amount of mafia families and biker gangs.
  21. We've come such a long way from Even Pellerud demanding hoofs from the back for the women's team and now this on the men's side. Will say that I thought Zambrano was the real deal to lead this team until the Herdman replacement/coup. Herdman has done an amazing job bringing this team together. We had former CPL players out today which I would have never expected.
