A shame for me under the last owner was players that had something being wasted scraping by. Cabaye, Merino, Ba, Ben Arfa, Lejuene (if fit) and others could have slotted into good Newcastle teams and been assets and shone. Were getting a taste of that with Schar I'm glad to see.

Its about the right size club for Emery. The elite level is beyond him. An improvement on what Villa had, relegation is off the table for sure now, depends what success is I suppose, but cant see them breaking into the top6/7 so not sure it will be deemed a success down the road.

I'm just happy with getting competent bodies back. They probably aren't but when I watch how hard our team and midfield work it just makes me feel they've got to be spent and would just feel better with an extra bit of rotation as opposed to an all hands on deck feeling.

Definitely going to be harder without Gerrard mostly, the momentum from their win today will feed in but its balanced out by a bit of after the lord mayor's show/flash in the panedness (hopefully) plus the relative battle testedness of Spurs away and Brentford at home. Would have been worryingly comfortable about with Gerrard still there.

Same. In the side, Witton Lane away bit. They were 2nd the year before far as we knew at the time it was our second hardest game. Was my birthday the day before.
