  1. Both right. Went down with the mackems and Boro in 96/97, came back up, and went down again in 98/99. Never lost against them in the PL. Not a million miles away. They're my preference.
  2. I heard the Royal Mail were slashing deliveries to some areas. You don't get many free samples through the door any more. and so on and so forth
  3. First time I've done everyones fixtures instead of just the teams that were below us a few months ago. Got Southampton going down on goal difference from Brentford (who I've got on the beach relative to the other teams they play (Everton, Leeds)) - they play next I believe. Lot of 'six pointers' between teams below us. So effectively on that paralell universe that game is the decider.
  4. I was a huge Robert fan and argued many a time that his goals and goals created were worth the price of his laziness defensively. Defending is part of the team. Offensively no problems. Milner is a great team player. probably no more useful than Robert in attack, but look at the difference in careers.
  5. Ginola got no heat under KK, Gascoigne, Tino and Solano were beloved. Solano had as much flair as Robert but the consistency disguised it. The only flair players that some fans had a problem with weren't great team players or didn't produce tangible goods enough to off-set that: Robert, Mirandinha, and ASM. Its why these players don't have great careers generally.
  6. Knew somehow a club owned by a woman that's got 22,000 for a women's game in the 4th tier including a lot of families and a lot of young lasses and a lovely moment for all concerned that otherwise would have never happened just had to be the epitome of evil.
  7. There's no way these are going down sadly.
  8. They remind me of O'Neill's Leicester - Lennon, Savage, Izzet, Walsh, Claridge, Marshall, boring strip and ground, spoiling bores arses
  9. Everton v us and Man United all over again.
  10. I/we mentioned 3. So obviously not. ASM is the only one borderline. Like Gazza was. The others we know are or aren't good enough.
  11. Tell this bitter cvnt that the reason we spent that in line with FFP and the reason we were down there is because of Ashley's underspending and general holding us back putting us at that disadvantage compared to these helpless other clubs. Norwich weren't being held back and didn't have the capacity to do that whilst Everton have massively overspent
  12. Mostly not but there's no debate about them, that's more like Winterburn, Clough and Smith trying to get in - nobody's even watching them really - whilst Gazza has a chance and is entertaining and you actually want him to, if he'll buckle down. Fraser might on account of being useful and reliable now. He'd be Trevor Steven. Maxi-pads (I bet that's already been done, but just in case)
  13. I've got Leeds getting another 5points and Burnley another 6. Predicated on a draw with us. With Everton having Brentford and Palace at home and Watford away, could be as tight as gnats chuff. Could be a delicate balancing act that last game, losing and sending Everton down one minute, then a goal for them could mean were losing and sending Leeds down, would just as soon win the game if that's the case.
  14. Its like weve got a world cup round the corner and a squad to decide on from quite a big pool of players. ASM is getting the friendly time but he's not doing a Gazza against Czechoslovakia and making it impossible not to select him. Quite the opposite.
  15. On 09/04/2022 at 17:55, Wolfcastle said: Can easily make a case for Burnley beating Southampton, Wolves, Villa at home and Watford away with a point somewhere else before they play us. Two wins needed. unnamed responses: 1) Can easily make a case for them not beating any of those teams either. They have won 4 all season, have picked up 3 out of the last 15 and let's be fair they were very lucky to have beaten Everton midweek also. 2) Honestly Burnley are a dark horse for a Europa Conference League spot.
  16. The only thing unfounded about it was that Ashley wasn't genuinely interested in selling as the next 11years showed. Had his bluff called on selling then disappeared.
  17. Anybody got the Oxford game highlights from that promotion season? Was on youtube but was taken down before I illegally downloaded it. Is kind of a forgotten after and before the lord Mayors show game and I think the season videos has music over it. Was straight round the shops the day after that Sheffield Wed game to get Mathie 14 on the blue shirt. Great night.
  18. Weddings, wrestling and holidays apparently.
  19. Bluto Samuel had his weekly dig today. Shamelessly alongside his weekly defence of all things Manchester City. It was a regime he was a shill of that sold the club to PIF and his propping up the last regime with Bishops bullshit so we couldn't get rid until a group of this magnitude came along helped create the situation. Fat vain attempt as assuaging his guilt bitter shill shit journalist mail cunt
  20. Fair play to the lino, he couldn't get his flag up quick enough in that clip. None of this waiting for the beeper or a stoppage in play or an actual offence poppycock
  21. Strange position for a club bigger than Spurs to be in. Based on highest one-off gate and more titles and ignoring everything else. Have that Levy.
  22. No. Only similarly minded players as Bruce looking for a skive and effectively having given up on their development would want to work with him again.
  23. I wondered given the only parameter they have over us in the 'bigger club' debate is more league titles how they come to their conclusion. I must admit I never factored in which club had the biggest one off attendance and had the biggest away win as gage on account of both Sheffield clubs having much higher highest gates than Liverpool not being reflective in the slighest of their respective status. Just seems a bit particular and selective compared to things like recognising the existence of the FA Cup and Europe, major trophies won, minor trophies won, 3rd division participation and not, 50x more games in Europe, total domination of attendance figures, profile, record transfers an current status.
  24. If we lose these next two with a 4-0 aggregate I'll take it. Though it doesn't really matter like the Spurs game in the overall trajectory it stays on the permanent record. Don't know how I feel about them now. There's good (the YNWA Ronaldo chant) and bad (smashing up coaches). Klopp is perfect for them, half likable and charming gobshite half drug fuelled too much with a hint of prickish arrogance.
  25. The hiring process for Bruce without joking would have been basically like Blackadder the third recruiting an MP requiring "someone over whom we have complete control. A man with no mind, with no ideas of his own. One might almost say a man with no brain." Charnley presents Bruce to Ashley.
