I feel like there's a massive difference between ranting about something that's actually based on evidence and moaning about every little thing under the sun because it doesn't make you happy the way it did as a kid. (which is the case for most football fans that do this)
-
Considering the reaction to Woltemade while playing for Germany, I somehow doubt it.
-
Just how the world is unfortunately, there's always way more chatter about the negatives than anything else. People are addicted to it.
-
Ooooof, it took me a second accurate comparison ngl.

I hope Joelinton crashes the box more, when I first started watching this season I was a bit confused why he wasn't. I guess it's possible he just has certain tactical instructions that I'm not really aware of, but it feels like he has the right physical profile to be able to do it and it would give the other midfielders more space to find passes that are dangerous.
-
I think there's a case to be made that a striker of this profile can once the chemistry improves can in fact make chances for others so they spread around though. I know it's lower league opposition but I thought the last 20 minutes were really encouraging as far as getting late runners into dangerous positions as a result of his playmaking.

If you were to ask someone what the front 6 would be going post Transfer Window. Not only have we never seen it once but we've seen multiple instances of 3-4 players being out due to injury, suspension or rotation. I don't think it's fair to point out a lack of squad depth when that squad has already has already been hit 3-4 times. That's completely the point, of course the depth looks worse under those circumstances.

I just wanted to say I'm not really surprised the team hasn't got going yet. In terms of midfield and attack combinations it's been in massive flux. From what I've seen of the first few games, the talent is there but combinations and how you play off your team mates matter so once that happens I think the wins will follow. I also think it's not a coincidence that the defense has looked good and they haven't had those issues.
-
Oh I'm not saying start him every game yet, just saying that when he plays if he performs it tells me still has 'it' Obviously he needs to be out there just like any other player.
-
Surely that proves he is who everyone says he is? If he's putting in the performances when opportunity is provided but isn't there often enough? I think it would be a much bigger red flag if when he played and he sucked. (Aka Willock)
-
This implies there is any thought put behind who they sign past "what positions do we need lads?"
-
Pretty sure in this case you're reading far too much into his words tbh mate. If I'm wrong then fair enough but I think it just was general comment relating to him getting cramp and facing Barcelona a few days later.
-
Do people think goals just happen by magic? There's a tonne of different factors that lead to chances being created. Which is why I always find it strange when discussing signings there's such a huge discussion about someone's record, each team provides a vastly different environment to someone's success or lack of.

The amount of people who STILL underestimate the impact of concussions is insane. You might feel okay but your brain is going to be scrambled eggs.

What about this season has told you this? The only goals conceded are to Liverpool and Barcelona and some absolute worldies in amongst them. We may lose but I really don't share the comfortable defeat negativity tbh and there's really nothing to suggest that's going to be the case. Goals haven't been exactly free flowing yes, but the opposition have to actually score themselves and so far nobody has found that particularly easy.
-
I think a lot of people are missing that the chances being created in the first half were a direct result of the pressure the front 3 created. They didn't take advantage but I don't think there was anything wrong with the approach and there's definitely no guarantee starting Woltemade would have led to chances. At the end of the day, they are one of the favorites for the whole competition and the margin for error is tiny and while it's disappointing I thought most of them did well.
-
I suspect this is the point entirely, from the clips I watched their high line is bordering on Kamikaze. It's clearly worked out for them but I completely get what he's going for. Might not work but I definitely get the logic.
-
I suspect the plan is to press the shit outta them and get in behind their extremely high line and bring on Woltemade after an hour or so when the spaces probably won't be as huge as the game settles down. Time will tell if it's actually an effective plan, but I suspect that's what he's going for.

It's a full transcript from an interview. That right there is why editors exist

When Kaka mentioned it as a possibility yesterday I said that tactically it makes sense even if it's unconventional. But sometimes the the line up that makes sense tactically isn't the right one We'll see, it wouldn't be what I'd do but I do understand the possible thought process that would make him do it.

I'd somewhat understand their argument (they were still a great team)if we rocked up with a full Keegan team. But they're painting this picture that they were average and we rocked up with Shearer, Beardsley, Ginola etc Would have scored 7 then iyam.
