Been thinking about this because my brain hasn't quite switched off from transfer mode, but where do you think we upgrade next? I'm thinking potentially (presuming no outgoings with players I'd want to keep: Gordon or Barnes Botman Willock Trafford alternative Back up LB

Newcastle United vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers: 13/09/25 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Been thinking about this a lot because we've had a huge turnover of players, which we know Howe doesn't like. On the plus side though, that turnover is more at squad level than in the starting XI, where with everyone available really we'll only be playing 1 or 2 new players for a while (ST and RW) - providing Wissa can hit the ground running like we hope he will, I'll be really optimistic about the season. The clouds over us at the moment should lift as soon as we click. -
In my lifetime quite comfortably.

...didn't you just ask me this?

This was 13 odd years ago like. Given the cesspit that Twitter's become and the levels of greatness N-O's achieved, hr might have come to his senses.

Who's to say, but I don't think it changes much. He's basically been a not as extreme Isak who's apologised for it. In isolation it's still shite behaviour, it's more that in the context of Isak it's not quite as bad.

He briefly went on strike, deleted all his social media posts about Brentford, and then on the second last day of the window released a statement reiterating that he wanted to leave and promises had been broken. Isak-lite basically

Clery. Burnsie isn't good at his hobby

I'm in a unique position on this one, but I know pretty much first hand that he used to slag this place off as 'pointless' because Twitter exists. He's good at his job like, I can't deny that, but I'll never like him.

No case is the same, but he's acted the twat and I really don't like how us and Brentford have given in to it, even if in Brentford's case they got an insane fee. What I will say though is that there's a marked difference between the response from Wissa vs Isak. It doesn't count for a huge amount to me personally, but him acknowledging Brentford in our video and literally saying sorry to their board at one point does count for something.

That "Gary, Gary, Gary. Why shouldn't Liverpool spend £500 million!?" one has been living rent free in my head this summer.

It's always the same when you go on opposition fans forums. We're all the same, it's incredible.

When the standards took a nosedive more like. We were a game away from finishing 2nd.

Merson being worried is normally a good sign tbf

I was thinking more ahead of the Burnley game it should have been a thrashing rather than the outcome of how you played. Getting that pen felt pivotal for Amorim, I thought

I don't think we definitely do, but I didn't think challenging for the title was contingent with having Isak anyway tbh, we'd still be away from that with him here and all of the other signings we made.
