This has all the elements of being a match I'd fancy us to win, not as much as if it was Man United or Arsenal, but still. Just hope the emotion doesn't spill over and we lose control. If we channel our energy properly we can definitely turn these over. -
Absolutely no doubt in my mind that no matter how good any team gets, some fans of that club can't live without having a player they don't like
-
I can't tell you how much I would hate Romero if he played for us. Must be the most braindead cunt I've ever seen playing at the level he is.
-
Worked his knackers off and had some good moments, he just has certain moments where he doesn't do what strikers should do. The main one for me is when a ball is knocked up he just stands off the CB, which I find a bit weird, because you would think it's not just about winning headers, it's about making sure it's not incredibly easy for the CB.

He'll have been licking his lips at that I reckon.

Thought there was plenty of promise in that performance like. I don't expect him to be the finished article under us for a while.

I want blood -
The way I see it, the fact I've been left frustrated with a draw away to Villa despite having no striker is a positive. I'd have taken a point before the match, without question, but we were more than enough value for the win, so yes frustrating but very happy with the performance. Hopefully we get Wissa in before next week and we see the difference. Pope: 7 Trippier: 7 Schär: 7.5 Burn: 8 Livramento: 6.5 Tonali: 7 Bruno: 6.5 Joelinton: 6.5 Elanga: 6.5 Gordon: 7 Barnes: 5.5

Murphy was robbed of his goal tbf

Couldn't really ask for much more of a team with no striker, by far the better team.

Just want a good performance with some positives to take I think. My feeling is that we can put in a really good performance here but with no striker it'll make little difference to the result. -
It's not an argument for not selling him. I want him gone. It's an argument for not selling him not on our terms - specifically to Liverpool specifically now when we're rummaging around for a replacement. Any variation on it and my stance is very different. Eg selling to PSG now, or selling to anyone next summer when we have a DoF in place and have sorted out a replacement. Would rather it not happen again than have to not cave when it happens again, but each to their own.

I couldn't care less about ridicule tbf, it's solely about the precedent it sets. If we go along with this now there's a good chance something similar will happen again.
-
I can't think of another example that's as bad as this one, let alone one where the club has also caved tbh. If we sold him to Liverpool this summer we'd be in uncharted territory, but the precedent it sets is so clear that I would think it's a big part of the reason clubs tend not to cave.

You think it's good for Newcastle that every player, agent and club knows that all a player needs to do is just refuse to play to force a move and we'll do it? That we'll even sell them to a future domestic rival who tapped him up, bought our number 1 replacement, and used him, his agent and the media to try and drive the fee down and make the transfer happen? I don't think that's good for Newcastle at all. The best thing for Newcastle now would be to continue with the other business it needs to do, then get rid of Isak on Newcastle's terms and in a way that ensures no player, agent or club ever tries this shit with us ever again.
