  1. They're in the middle of their season. Don't think the humidity can be understated as well, it's like trying to play football in a room with 100 tumble dryers on - something they're completely used to.
  2. You can tell they're playing in humidity like. Absolutely horrible conditions for football.
  3. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that not only is signing Wissa/Sesko and keeping Isak for this season the ultimate power move, but that it's by far the best move strategically.
  4. Ekitike was like. I'm thinking more style than level, I wouldn't expect a like-for-like Isak replacement, more just saying what type of striker I prefer really. We'll see, hoping that the club finds its backbone in all this.
  5. It's not a take, it's based on multiple fairly reliable journalists saying that Man City weren't going to. Can only keep repeating the same thing so many times like.
  6. I think him being on loan with no obligation and a low loan fee pretty much neutralises all the scoffing that would be going on if we'd signed him.
  7. Nothing about this seems particularly likely right now. Watching his highlights last night I can see why that one on Twitter was sped up like. Not my type of striker in the way Isak is, so wouldn't care if it falls through, but it is what it is.
  8. He was shipped out as number 1 by a team looking to win the league, we're bringing him in on loan with no obligation as an upgrade on Dubravka and an alternative to a number 1 who cant use his feet and is suseptable to injury - and for a team looking to consolidate their CL position. We missed out on James Trafford, this is the alternative. If we were outright buying him you'd have a point, as I don't rate him, but as we're not, and the 'been relegated with X' point is daft, you don't.
  9. I'm no Ramsdale fan, but "been relegated with 3 clubs" is a daft point to make. He also got to 2nd with Arsenal and was in the TOTY only a couple of years ago. Howe 'got Bournemouth relegated', Klopp 'got Mainz relegated' Moyes 'got Sunderland relegated' 🤭 Pope was relegated with Burnley Daft point to make.
  10. I really don't know what else to say. I covered all of this in my first message. Multiple journos saying we had a free run at him (and specifying that Man City weren't going to step in) Believe what you want though, it seems like insisting that Man City were always going to step in despite reports to the contrary is a popular thing to do where this transfer's concerned.
  11. We did, multiple journalists have reported that we had a free run at him last season (Mitchell pulled the plug) and this season pre CWC. If you don't want to take their collective word on it that's understandable like, but I'll take that over an unfalsifiable hypothetical.
  12. Time to start talking myself into it. Apparently he had 0 errors leading to goals last season, which is pretty good while playing for that Southampton side.
  13. Spent basically every other weekend in Bootle for a lot of my childhood, my grandad was a scouser, and as sanctimonious as it can be, have a lot of time/envy for the City's socialist history, and there's a lot about its people that reminds me of geordies, so have a soft spot for scousers in general. Liverpool and Everton as football clubs though can get in the bin along with every other club in the world, particularly Liverpool's plastic armada of 'fans', its sanctimony, and the media furore around them.
  14. Nah, 100% on us. Multiple reported chances to sign him without them stepping in that we fucked up.
  15. Shearer didn't go on strike in order to force a move though. I'm basing all of this purely on feeling tbf, this one has got to me the most.
  16. Worse than any transfer window. Last summer was bad, the Bowyer/Anita summers were bad, but nothing comes close to this. It's better in that we've actually tried, but that also somehow makes it worse because the people doing it are ill-prepared and have been completely slapped about
  17. Hopefully very soon isn't on the same clock as the imminent stadium news.
  18. Top one will be about how much of a mess it is behind the scenes I would imagine.
  19. Eddie Howe who has publicly said that his opinion is that we shouldn't sell him and that he hopes he's a Newcastle player at the start of the season, but that it's out of his hands.
  20. Thank you for that. So basically Man United's head of recruitment is pushing for it. Very different
  21. Are you sure he didn't? There was a wave of tweets that he'd said that during it, not in a pattern that would immediately make you think it was bots or nonsense either.
