  1. Palace 0-2 Liverpool Brighton 2-0 Burnley Man United 2-1 Bournemouth Sheff United 0-1 Brentford Wolves 2-1 Forest Villa 1-1 Arsenal Everton 1-2 Chelsea Fulham 1-2 West Ham Luton 0-2 Man City Spurs 2-1 Newcastle
  2. Think it has an established fanbase. My lass's dad goes on every day and will usually bring up one of the 'born/died' players when I see him.
  3. Or break up in the earth's atmosphere and hit Joe Willock's achillies.
  4. And only a point behind last season, with 10 games coming up we only won 3 of last season.
  5. It's not a fluke, but it is above their average so they're either peaking or they've improved again.
  6. Put another way, we could lose to Spurs, Liverpool, Man City, Villa, and Arsenal, win just 1 of our other two easier away games to Luton or Forest and still come out of it level on points with last season by winning our 4 home games against Fulham, Forest, Luton and Bournemouth.
  7. We're now a point behind where we were at this point last season, which is still a great achievement. We only won 3, drew 5 and lost 2 of the next 10 matches last season though, so there's still plenty of room to manoeuvre.
  8. On a forum with thousands of members and in a thread with hundreds of posts, not really like. Fatigue does explain last night yeah. If they look tired, which to me it's obvious that they did, then they're obviously tired. No idea why there's any need to dig any deeper than what your eyes should be clearly showing you.
  9. Don't really remember Dortmund widely being blamed on fatigue either, it's Bournemouth and tonight, because they looked knackered in both games. It's not complex or owt.
  10. So that's a starting XI and one sub of injuries we have. Never known anything like it.
  11. And on the flipside, we're 7 points up on our home form vs last season.
  12. Brighton were absolutely brilliant when they beat us, I honestly don't get how people don't see that. They had to play extremely fast, precise, high risk football to beat our press and they did it.
  13. We went 2-1 up against West Ham after going 1 down. Saturday-Thursday on paper should be enough time, but it evidently isn't and these lads in this situation get more than the benefit of any doubt for. For me I don't even have any doubt, we know how much they work their bollocks off.
  14. Just use your eyes. If the energy's not there, is it because the most hard working Newcastle team we've ever seen are being lazy, or are they knackered? I don't really get this '2+2 should equal 4, so why is it 5?' way of thinking really. This team has more than earned the right for us to accept that what we're seeing when there's a lack of energy is for an honest reason.
  15. Brighton and West Ham were nothing like tonight in terms of energy. Bournemouth and tonight are the matches where the energy hasn't been there.
  16. Missing out on Maddison and Szobszlai, who both have very similar and unique player profiles suggests that he does. Feel like it's going to be a player we're not hugely familiar with as well
  17. Then I would recommend rewatching the Chelsea, PSG, and Man United matches to see what our energy levels are usually like.
  18. Ah yes, professional marathon runner Eddie Izzard
  19. With rotation aye. It's obviously not manageable beyond a certain point when the same XI has to play full 90 minute matches in an intense period. It's not like they're faking it, if they look knackered it doesn't matter whether they should be or not, they just are.
  20. I never understand why people make this argument. They're also playing against top athletes
  21. It was the anti-Pope performance, decent kicking and on the ball, poor shot stopping and command of crosses. He should improve with more games though hopefully
  22. Mistakes like that happen when you're knackered like, it doesn't matter how good you are, especially in his role and with the mileage he has on the clock. Can't really bring myself to criticise him tbh.
