Said it before but the level of hatred they carry around and the daily hate they hand out to each other on there seems really unhealthy like. You can see the steam coming off certain posts and it only takes one person saying something as mild as 'It's annoying how good they are' to send its resident beetroot heeds into a state of furious finger pointing and insults over being mag apologists or being secret mags. It's not enough for them that people support Sunderland and hate Newcastle and any success we have, they have to subscribe to putting on daily performances over how illegitimate, underwhelming, and unimpressive everything Newcastle does is - while supporting a club that is well below those same standards - otherwise they're in the mag stasi. It's unhinged and the cognitive dissonance will be genuinely sending them a bit mental. It seems like a terrible way to spend your time and exactly the sort of thing we'd wish upon them. All the natural outcome of being a fanbase whose identity is largely defined by who they're not rather than who they are.

Don't think it's hugely controversial tbh, Pope's entitled to go for it, but even if he gets it he's taken out their player to get it. I remember him in a pre-season match in 23-24 where he looked below the level of the low-level team we were up against. Look at him now, assisting the winner in a cup final, preying upon teams' underestimation of him, and generally absolutely smashing it. What a story, brilliant. Couldn't be happier for him.
