  1. Need Man United to win for the predictions league really. Feel dirty.
  2. There isn't, not until he retires. How old are you?
  3. £50? Bet you're making is that he never manages one of Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, or Spurs.
  4. Don't think it's out of the question that clubs that hired the likes of Slot, Arteta, Amorim, Ten Hag, and fucking Graham Potter and Liam Rosenior might consider going for a manager who's overachieved at the top end of the Premier League for 3 of the last 4 seasons like. It's nowhere near as mad as you seem to think it is.
  5. There are literally no consistently good Premier League football teams
  6. He gets credit/criticism for the players that are well reported for being his picks. There's a huge elephant in the room re last summer as well, as in he was less "in charge of transfers" and more "without a DoF and CEO to get deals done"
  7. Seems a bit specific. You think he'll definitely never manage one of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United, Spurs?
  8. It seems extremely out of character for you to be dealing in the hypothetical. Your entire thing is about dealing what has happened.
  9. He did, but ye nah, the same league Steve McClaren won. He was definitely a punt. As was Arteta, Amorim, Ten Haag, Maresca, Rosenior, Poch at Spurs, and more. Man City play that way, but I'm not convinced others do to a huge extent and are more transitional like. Our model at its best is very, very similar to Liverpool under Klopp imo. Actually can't remember the last time a club here went for an established manager. Conte at Spurs?
  10. How about Kompany going from relegated Burnley to Bayern? I don't necessarily think Howe would definitely get picked up by these clubs btw, but I also think it wouldn't be out of keeping with some of the managers they've had and if he's admired he'll be admired regardless of this season.
  11. Dunno why it keeps getting ignored that Arteta and Slot's CVs were this when they went to Arsenal and Liverpool: Arteta: Man City assistant Honours: Slot: AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven manager Honours: 1 Dutch league win, 1 Dutch Cup win Hardly Ancelotti were they?
  12. What do you think Arne Slot was?
  13. Thing is, he didn't. If you read that post, which was reposted yesterday, only a little bit of it lines up with what we're seeing now. It's also a bit mad to me that it's still brought up when we all have our own 5 years of lived experience with Howe.
  14. You know quasimodo predicted all this
  15. Outside of Newcastle? I overestimated how much he was thought of inside Newcastle.
  16. Hold on though, we're not talking about whether they were successful, we're talking about whether big clubs hire them. All of those clubs have hired them, Chelsea are currently managed by Liam Rosenior
  17. Something that 100% would have been said about their current managers before they went there. Something that was said about Arsenal's most successful manager ever when he went there. It was still being said for most of the first few years of Arteta's time at Arsenal. Look at how crazy Kompany to Bayern looked. Slot was in no way an established elite manager either and came in straight after Klopp. I'm not saying Howe would go to a club that level either btw, just that the idea that it's somehow out of the question runs counter to some of the appointments those clubs have made.
  18. There's one Man United fan who would tell you to ignore that forum and listen to him...
  19. Arteta, Maresca, De Zerbi, Kompany, Amorim, Slot? Project managers are all the rage now.
  20. I love the dichotomy of "We can look at up and coming managers!" but also other clubs above us wouldn't do that with Howe. Incredibly revealing. Quite funny when you think who his playing style at its best most closely matches as well.
  21. Watched their highlights yesterday and it really is an 'all the signs' situation like. It's a perfect storm where probably even one factor (especially their goalkeeper being half decent) would keep them up. Personally thought their penalty was a pen. The goal they conceded was something else like, when the shot was taken and deflected it looked every bit like a shot that a standard PL goalkeeper deals with. How he was that bamboozled by it I'll never know.
  22. Only teasing before anyone takes it too seriously.
  23. Amen. Everything is reverse engineered from our shit results.
