If he or his agent has put that out there it's bit of a dickhead move to be saying you're interested in managing clubs that both currently have managers.
-
Definitely not. If we thought Gordon was bad for only bothering his arse when he felt like it...
-
Could very well win the Europa as well.
-
Not really like. There are some things I get 2nd hand that journalists won't/can't put out there, but this is one that's already out there anyway I think, so not really insightful.

New to me, but similar source.

Couldn't tell you like, hadn't even heard of him until 20 minutes ago.

We do need 2 though. I love Pope and always will, and I hate that it's got to this, but it's the right call.
-
Fernández-Pardo probably the leading target replacement
-
Joauen early doors and Porto Diogo Costa are our early targets from what I've heard.
-
Probably in both clubs interests to understate the fee I guess.

A price worth paying for who we brought in and achieved tbh
-
I know they say never go back and all that, but I really do think we lost something that might be irretrievable when Staveley and Ghoudoussi left. Would love to think they could come back and for it to be anywhere near the same, but probably wishful thinking.

Seems like it's a bid that's in the ballpark of what we'll accept. Maybe £75m + add ons and that'll be it. We can deal with the repercussions but I really like that it's getting done quickly, is abroad, and the price is decent.

Yeah I thought Liverpool were godawful for a title winning team last season and said so at the time. Similar to Arsenal they won it with a low points total while there was a vacuum at the top. I know it's trite, but I do also think you can't underestimate how much these transition seasons have an affect on clubs though, so I understand why Liverpool are looking long-term and standing firm.
-
I would as well, but it's hard to argue that we shouldn't try to. If this was the end of 24/25 I'd be saying give it another season, but it's gone on too long now and the pool of potential replacements is massive.

I don't think we can understate how important it is that it looks like we're selling abroad. 90% of the problem with the Isak sale was that we were selling to a team we had/have ambitions to compete with.

I don't follow his wife on IG or anything, but someone I know who gets into all of that and likes to namedrop this and that player and their wife that they know through school/where their friends live etc said something of the lines that 'it says it all that since they had their baby she's hardly ever in Newcastle'

I have no doubt Gordon could go to either of those clubs and kill it like. His problem here has always been about his application and consistency rather than his talent. At those clubs it's clear what the aim is every season so it wouldn't surprise me if he was fired up for every match like he was here in 23/24. Either way his time here is up and has been for a while.

IIRC Ashley Cole getting 'tapped up' was Arsenal grassing over an open secret and reported on like it was something unique and beyond the pale by the media, when the reality is that it goes on all the time. Even when it's done above board it's still just their agent doing the same thing and passing it back and forth.
-
Think most would say and have said the same about any team getting into Europe that potentially isn't ready for it. Burnley, Leicester, West Ham, Palace, Forest, Newcastle etc. Feel free to use it as an opportunity to think you're unique though.
-
Has to go down as the most underrated player in my time supporting the club. The numbers he puts up are fantastic and there are still plenty who think he's been a failure of a signing, which I can't wrap my head around at all.

Best I managed after saying I'd take a break last summer is deleting the shortcut then just searching for the app 3 minutes later. Pathetic.
